Just moved here a couple weeks ago and me and my partner love it here. Great communication, instant feedback. Maintenance went in n out and fixed everything that we asked. We were a little worried since this is our first place but it was clean and beautiful. Thank you for such an amazing experience. <3

I have lived here for about four years, and I consider myself very lucky to have found The Retreat of Shawnee. The staff has been friendly and helpful. They even helped me modify my bathroom to make it more accessible. They are also great about responding to maintenance requests. I hope to live here for several more years.

Please, please do yourself a favor and do not even consider living here. I travel a lot and have lived all over the country and this is hands down the worst experience I have ever had in my life of over 40 years. Thankfully this was just a temporary situation where I needed to rent for 6 months. However, in that 6 months.. 4 separate instances of water damage in the apartment in 3 different rooms. Yes, furniture and possessions were ruined. Not to mention the water that leaks in through the windows whenever there is rain. Windows that do not close all the way so incredible utility bills. Fights outside in the parking lot. Multiple instances of vehicle vandalism. Walls so thin that you hear everything that your neighbors are doing, and I do mean everything. Opening and closing of cabinets, bathroom noises that you do not want to hear, everything. If you have kiddos do NOT let them outside without supervision. The worst was a vehicle doing about 40mph through the parking lot (where there are more blind spots than you can count) and after seeing who was driving, it was someone who worked in the office. Do you buy things online from time to time? Well the complex does not provide the Post Office with a place for packages, and since nothing fits in your tiny mailbox you have to go to the Post Office each and every time you have a package delivered (even the small ones in envelopes). They claim this is a Covid precaution, but clearly at this point it is just an excuse for management not wanting to make the effort. Cockroaches, yep. Fleas, yep and I don't even own a pet. Your furnace is in your bedroom, and I promise you never knew how loud and startling a furnace is until you are sleeping right next to it. I could go on, but I think I have gone on enough. Congratulations Retreat of Shawnee, you are far and away the winner of the worst place I have ever lived in my life and all for the low low price of higher than any mortgage payment that I have ever had.
