We were very excited to visit Chef Mike’s, as we heard it was one of the nicest spots in Seaside Park. Unfortunately we thought it was overpriced and very mediocre. We had empty glasses that just sat on our table, and constantly had to flag our server to get their attention. We ordered several things, but the only item that we really liked and thought was unique was the Creamy Crab Bisque. My husband had the lobster special which was $60, and was nothing you could rant about. The whole experience didn’t feel like a fine dining experience, but you pay fine dining prices. I hope this feedback helps the team, as the restaurant has potential and is located right on the beach so you have beautiful views of the water.

If I could give this place 0 stars and leave a review, I would. We had a reservation for 7:15 and when we got there, we were told our table wasn’t ready, as another party was still eating. There was no apology, or end to our wait in site. We asked to speak to a manager, who didn’t want to come out, when he finally did, he was sweaty, in shorts and a dirty t shirt and a backwards hat and wouldn’t look us in the eye. He didn’t apologize and made some excuse about a broken oven. We waited another 15 minutes, totaling 45, before we gave up. My understanding is that a reservation is for a table to be reserved, that way when a party arrives they can occupy it. That is not how reservations work at mikes. Come on time and they won’t seat you, because they overbooked and clearly don’t care about their customers. Luckily, we were able to go to Rue 561 Bistro in Toms River, and that place is AMAZING. The staff is polite, attentive, showered. The food was absolutely incredible, try the pork chop and wedge salad, and since it’s BYOB we brought some great bottles of wine and the cost of the meal wasn’t exorbitant. Rue 561 is a must try in this area, and hopefully with such great options, places like Mikes will step up their game or be run into the ground.

Enjoyed an excellent dinner on Sunday. The service was good and the food was even better and the fig martini wasn't too shabby either! You know a place is good when you're there on a cold Sunday and the house is mobbed!

Stop everything. Right now make a reservation at Mike's ABG. When you arrive order the app "OLIVE OIL WHIPPED RICOTTA". Be prepared to enter Heaven. Also enjoyed the Chilean sea bass. Off season November dining the best.
