My family and I were enjoying a walk on the Main street in Big Bear and spotted this place as a convenient option to eat at. I should've checked for reviews before going. All of the reviews about how terrible this place is for families is true. Right when we entered my wife asked them to seat 4 and the manager said "that's not my job, talk to her" and pointed at another associate. They weren't very busy, but she said they had no tables, but we could sit outside. After we said ok, then they went on a huge rant about how bad the flies are and they are everywhere. I could tell that they just didn't want us there. I didn't want to deal with their attitude, so we decided to leave. Tons of restaurants have outdoor seating, but they were the only ones talking about it. Just enjoy a meal elsewhere, as there are a lot of options. Bottom line: The other negative reviews were right... Rude, not family friendly, and according to them - infested with flies.

Hi Craig yes it is $15 per bottle. Thank you for your inquiry and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you :)
Hello Jane, so glad you enjoyed our corn and crab chowder. I also had that on Monday and it was delicious. Not to brag, but I have had the same chefs in my kitchen for eight years plus and we have been open almost 15 years now. They all cook the same and there isn’t a recipe card in the kitchen. All of our daily features and soups are up to the head chef each morning. He just came up with that soup and his head like every day So unfortunately there is no recipe. You could probably follow it pretty closely just by coming up with a typical New England clam chowder recipe. We add red potatoes and bacon to ours and I know they use both lump and blue-eyed crab. Hope this helps. We sure appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again!
We are closed Christmas Day, but open the rest of the year:)
Its great environment all the way around. Masks required, social distancing protocols, safe and sound. Just do it!!!
We didn't do reservations.Allthough our take out was the best prepared & excellent tasting we've ever had in California anywhere
They're only doing take out
On the patio, and under the 10' x 20' tent. Reservations for dinner a good idea.
Hi Vicki, yes we are open on thanksgiving from 12 PM to 8 PM serving our dinner menu and we do have a featured traditional turkey breast plate available as well. Please call the restaurant to make a reservation at 909-866-5405 :)
Hi Craig! Yes I agree with you that the black cherry sauce on the Halibut is so good although I don’t know the recipe. It is no lie that there is no recipe card in our kitchen. All of our chefs have been with us for at least 7 to 15 years and they all cook the same:) And I also agree with you that Charlie is amazing! He has been with us for many many years and is not only a wonderful server but a great person as well!!
