I just learned that AAA has increased the per day allotment for rental car vehicles when you open a NEW policy with them to account for inflation. That is great! However, if you are an existing policy holder, your per day rate remains at $25 per day and with inflation in the Bay Area, compact cars start at $38 per day. Of course no one can anticipate when this coverage will be needed. I had a recent incident of which I was not at fault. When I filed my claim, I was told that my daily coverage for a rental is $25/day. I have not been informed or received any communication that AAA has made provisions to update your policy and increase your per day coverage. In speaking with my claim adjuster after my incident, she informed me that AAA now offers increased per day rates so I asked if I could change it to offset my out of pocket costs. She advised that I could but my current claim would not be eligible as the change would be on a go forward basis. She had a customer service rep reach out to me about making said change which of course resulted in them telling me that my current claim would not be eligible. Add in global supply chain issues, my repair shop is not sure how long they will have my vehicle so I am left to pay $25 additional dollars per day for a rental car (my rental is $50/day) to have one large enough to accommodate my family. The customer service reps I have spoken to have told me that "they get this complaint all the time" and "older customers get the short end of the stick since our policies were not automatically adjusted to the new min $40/day rate due to inflation". I do not feel like a valued 20+ year member. At the very least, AAA could have sent communication to existing policy holders to advise considering increasing this coverage. Additionally, the new option to increase rental car vehicle coverage should be made available to existing customers who have to open a new claim with AAA. At this rate, who knows how much I will be paying out of pocket for a rental car. Please do better AAA. This is not the customer service I've come to expect.

This evening I was left hanging by AAA doing Tows out of order. Two hours and twenty minutes from initial call I was being told that it would be another 45 minutes for the Tow Truck to show up. I kept calling for updates and never heard back. Wasn't until I talked to a manager that I got an update. I've been a member since the mid 80s. Worst experience today.
