(I would have given 0 star to them) Last month(July, 2021) I left the apartment and I saw a lot of charges being posted on my account. Infact I didn’t have pet and they have put around $300 for carpet cleaning. I saw 3 charges related to carpet cleaning - heavy duty carpet cleaning, carpet pet treatment and carpet cleaning. Over and above they have charged for apartment cleaning and then heavy duty apartment cleaning which comes out to be another 400$ and then another 75$ for pet inspection and these charges are when we don’t have any pets. They have charged for accelerated 1 day rent too even when we have returned the keys to leasing office. The charge of accelerated 1 day rent was removed when I called them multiple times to make them understand. I am not sure from where they are making these charges and try to snatch every bit of penny from our pocket. Their management is also not constant from last 6-8 months. Everytime when we try to reach somebody we get to know about new face or mostly we don’t get any response. When I have to leave the apartment, I tried to visit leasing office and everytime it was close. So I thought of dropping an email to them to give them 1 month prior notice for which I didn’t get any response for atleast 10 days after taking lot of follow ups and meanwhile I was visiting their leasing office also. One fine day I could find them open and when I asked them about leaving the apartment in next 15 days they told that I have to inform them 30 days before leaving and informed me about the penalty which I have to face. Finally it was sorted out with them that when I dropped email to them they will consider that day as my notice day to vacate the apartment. But due to all this I lost approx 8-10 days for which I have to pay extra. This amount is above the amount of 2050$ for which I have to pay as early termination fees as my lease was getting over little late and I have to move due to this dynamic situation of these days due to COVID. So in total I have to pay them 3400$ extra which I consider as overcharging and trying to sort it with the current leasing employees(hopefully it is not changed again) or will fight for these overcharges in the court to get it rectified. In short I will never recommend these apartments to anybody. Edit: (Reply over management reply): Now the management team is trying to justify the extra charges which they have posted out of confusion (as per the chat with one of the executives). If there were stains (which I am pretty much sure was not there) but for a second if I trust the management then why it was not noticed as part of first statement of 10th August, 2021? Why it was posted later? Please don't try to justify the mess which your team has created.

I've been a resident for over 3 years and through 3 different managers and I still love living here. The staff always goes above and beyond to help with customer service. Isandra and Jasmine in the office are both kind and patient and Fernando and Robert on the maintenance staff keep this place looking beautiful and running smoothly. As long as I live in San Jose, I'll live at The Carlyle.

Back in October of last year 2018 my wife and I were looking for a Very Very long time for a 1 bedroom apartment but here in Silicon Valley there's not too many places that are very warm and sincere about how they treat you as a potential tenant. Alyssa when I came to see a 1 bedroom apartment here at the Carlyle Apartments she was so nice and polite and for the first time in a long time I was so excited that we were given a chance to live in such a nice place here. There's a nice swimming pool with a jacuzzi and there's also a little gym and a place you can rent for parties here too. Also to give props to the maintenance people which they do a very good job here very polite too. This place is also pet friendly which is really cool too. My wife and I would recommend this place 1st than any other apartments the area.
