As far as I know DMV is closed Saturdays. However it would be wise to check with them given the covid-19 era changes a lot of departments are making to help accommodate. As far as I know they are closed Saturdays.

Yes they are open for all appointments. However if you are just going for an ID card don't bother with making an appointment. Go to their website and fill out the form for an ID card and bring the documents they request. If you have everything you need including the id you get after filling out the form you can do a walk in. It's fast and easy.

The Claremont DMV is open every weekday from 8am to 5pm, except Wednesdays, when they are open 9am to 5pm. Sure to recent volume, this branch has been opening on some Saturdays but you may have to call to find out which ones and the Saturday hours.

You can walk in without an appointment at any time, just expect a very long line (potentially several hours). Alternatively, you could try to make an appointment at a different DMV. Lastly, you could keep your current appointment and just recognize that your license will expire and you won't be able to drive or buy drinks legally until you get it renewed.
