I can’t say enough about this museum- this hidden gem. I learned so much about New Orleans history. The staff was beyond knowledgeable and it was just one of those experiences where you go not really expecting much, but come out changed. It’s hard to explain- but I definitely recommend it. I thought I knew a lot about history but there were things that I had no idea about. A must see.

This is an experience more than a tour because you're being told about how the lives of free people of color was turned upside down by racial animosity! You will be shown things that will make you say, how can one human being do another human being this way! We met the owner of this beautiful house, Mrs. McKenna and she shared with us her family lineage from Slavery to members of her family becoming prominent and proud citizens. I really enjoyed my visit. Richard Williams
