We were in the area and saw the 4.6 ratings for this museum, so decided to go and visit it. What a disappointment. Quality of exhibits was low, only a few were good. A huge collection of ugly pottery. We didn’t care about the Grandma Moses paintings, and you shouldn’t either. The outdoor sculpture garden was cute enough, but barely mentioned by staff. You can walk around it without spending $12 for the museum. Or just add another $8 and see the Mass MoCa, where one full day will not be enough to see everything.

We were there late and didnt get to enjoy all of the offerings, but were pleased with what we were able to get to.

Eclectic set of exhibits, beautiful building and nice grounds.

Hi Bert: 2006 - 2008 is when the granite curbs were installed at the Museum- mirroring the aesthetic of Old Bennington.
This museum is just lovely, perfect size, great exhibits, definitely worth a visit. Was there in June, fine knowledgeable people work there as well.
Hi Chris: Yes, the Museum is open on Monday (Memorial Day) from 10am to 4pm. The Research Library will be closed that day though. We hope to see you!
They weren't in August...
I posted a picture with the priced. But they are as Todd stated.
As a standard a museum does not offer financial appraisals or evaluation. Antiques, artworks, and other collectible items have such an individual nature that fixed values are difficult to establish. Prices asked and amounts offered are determined by personal interests of both the seller and the purchaser and by the trends in the market. Therefore a Museum is not an appraiser and cannot give information on value range. That said in order to know the value of your peice you would need to visit an appraiser who is familiar with the work and the current market for that object.
