Overall, would normally not leave a review on a ferry. But the staff was so friendly upon arriving and during the cruise to the island of Martha’s Vinyard. We enjoyed the outside deck in the sun, with a few snacks from the concession stand on the cruise. The cleanliness was on point. And it was a very enjoyable 45 min cruise there and back! Martha’s Vinyard was an added bonus to our trip to Cape Cod!

Haven't been on many ferries so can't compare but best experience so far. Tickets were easy to purchase. The ferry was easy to navigate inside. They have food & drinks for purchase and beautiful views heading to and from Martha's Vineyard. Our ferries were both on-time and was. It crowded but we went in mid-August.

Traveled 2 hours from Rockport to get to Martha's Vinyard. We had a car rented for the day on the island. The ferry service didn't think to tell people (post it on schedule or online) trying to catch a ferry that the town would have all roads blocked to the ferry for a marathon. Only to reopen them at 10 am. Then not bother to notify people that they have to drive 17 mins away to get a bus to transport you back to the ferry because they don't allow you to park your car there. We had to leave due to lack of time. We never made it to the island. Awful customer service to not notify people ahead of time. Cost us 312.00, Thanks!

I did it (but I didn't take my car).
Yes... Public transportation...buses and Uber
Yes. Anytime either ferry
I'm pretty sure if you bring box to freight cart one of the gentleman will either show you where to put it on boat or let you place in cart.
the ferry runs every day unless there is bad weather. It changes hour to hour if it is windy so you have to keep checking the Marthas Vineyard Steamship web page
It is. You can go to Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs.
Bartholomew's daughter and Mother in law were named Martha. Probably named after one of them.
Why would you want to pay a transient boat fee to take the ferry over when you could just take your boat there.
I believe that you can park in a satellite site and take the shuttle to the ferry .Try the Steamship Authority website
That's is correct for further info go to www.steamshipauthority.com. you can book online there. I think you will need to wait until January 9 to book, because that's when they start booking the second half of the year
Google ferry .you would have to leave from woods hole or hyannis⚓
I will suggest that you get one. But I'm sure that if they are accepting stand by vehicles you should get on without one . Friday, Saturday and Monday I would definitely recommend you get reservations .They usually di reservations only and don't take any stand by in season
Yes either way on your vehicle or carry on . They are very accommodating . you can take a dog and bicycles also
