I went to watch top gun 2 at the IMAX dome theater which is a great experience but I forgot my stuff there. So I made a couple of phone calls to their customer services team which is the extension is 251 but no one answered the phone and the voicemail box is full all the time so I can't leave my message. Today, I stop by the museum and to see do they have my jacket or not. A lady helped me check it out their storage and said they might probably throw lost-and-found stuff away biweekly. I appreciated her services and asked me to jog down my contact information just in case. However, the phone service is awful. If no one answers the phone and address voicemails you should not have this service and extension exist. After a week, no one replies my email as well.

This place has a ton of great things for kids of all ages to do. However, with that said, we just purchased a family membership and the employees that we saw and saw us, not one of them smiled or said hi to us. Very disappointed due to the lack of acknowledgement from the staff. The lady at the gift shop saw us but didn’t say anything to us and we were the only ones there. The lady at the exit which we walked right past didn’t even say have a good day or thanks for visiting. Just frustrating due to friendly employees always make any experience better. Because they are part of the experience. Also, it seems like there were a handful of things that weren’t open or didn’t work. Or didn’t have the appropriate pieces for them to be in use. We are excited to come back, but really hope the employees seem like they like their job.

Our first stop in our trip driving from Florida, Discover Place Science in Charlotte, NC 💕 It's beautiful, entertaining with many experiences for families; we had a great time.

This is a fun and educational family experience. They have a mixture of fun science and technology exhibits that cater to most interests. Many of the exhibits are hands on, and engage young minds to teach while encouraging fun and excitement. They also feature creative spaces for kids to build their own projects to put on display. We spent several hours there, and it was a hit. Unfortunately they had no vendor for concessions, so if you needed water, you had to use the water fountains. They were allowing water bottles in, so bring your own. Call ahead to verify, because that may change. Buy your tickets online. They give you $5 off per ticket. They have an IMAX theatre on site as well. Upcoming shows while we were there included Top Gun: Maverick and E.T. The Extraterrestrial. We were unable to view them because we missed the show times. If that's your thing, plan your trip accordingly. In between Hollywood movies, they regularly show educational IMAX films.

Yes they do it cost 1 dollar for up to 6 members
Definitely. There is a specific area for kids at the beginning. I took a 2.5 years old and she had so much fun. Also the aquarium area is really interesting.
Seniors and military are $15, regular price for an adult is $17. Children are $13 and 2 and under is free.
Can you bring your own snacks for my kids?
I suggest the adult nights. There are some very fun themed nights with drinks. Such as Harry Potter, game of thrones, and Halloween. It's also nice to not have to dodge kids that are not being supervised properly.
Our three year old loves it. We go to the toddler area, the aquarium area, the frogs, and do small stints in thr big open room.
Yes/ Si
I'm not sure. Sorry
Yes, my wife takes the grandchildren and their lunches at least twice a month.
You can do both, but I would walk in and pay
We brought our own, but I went with a school group, so I'm not sure about smaller groups.
How much is tickets for seniors and kids under 5
You can also use your phone to make phone calls. It works, I do it all the time. Sometimes you can call these places and get answers directly from the source.
Regular hours, but i bet a lot of people will be there. Might be best to pack your owe lunch instead of eating there.
If you have a food stamp or medicaid card it is free to get in
There are some endangered animals in our rainforest at the main location in downtown Charlotte... also check out Discovery Place Nature which is all about animals and nature
There are different museums under the discovery place name. The first was 1946 in Charlotte as a teacher resource museum.
It is 1$ for kids & 2$ for adults. Yes, just make sure you have your identification with you. It must match the food assistance card (ebt). Fun fact - you can also bring up to (7) people with that discount.
Not currently. Eventually they may get one, but right now the nearest food is outside the museum
It’s $2 for adults. Kids 2 and under free. $8 parking
This would not be a good hotel...noise, flashing lights, animals...nope. not recommended for naptime.
You may have to call about parking because of all the construction I think you just drop off and then come back to pick up..... it may be like 4 hour parking if I'm correct
Not currently. Currently they have an exhibit about mental health and a new exhibit that will be announced soon. Oh and a dinosaur IMax movie right now
You'll have to call and ask them
No just buy the tickets online.
It was a Tuesday when we went i think they are there not sure about the days they are closed
Yes, All guests ages 2 and older must wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth at all times in the Museum.
It really depends on their interest. There is an Antarctic dinosaur exhibit going on now. So if they like dinosaurs, or nature. There is also a build It laboratory upstairs that can be fun for older kids. And there is a electronics lab downstairs. Also there is an aquarium, jungle area. Occasionally they take out animals from there for people to look at and pet.
There are kids and senior rates(60+) for museum and I max theater.
Check this list for reciprocity https://www.astc.org/passport/
It depends on what day, and time. You can find parking on the street on the weekends.
It worth the pice if you showing the kids a fun day i wouldn't say its to pricey it depends on what you you call it
Yes ma'am!
$19.00 just for museum
We buy tickets when we arrive at the place. It is not super full. It took us about 10 minutes to enter because we were explaining the different options and prices they have.
You shouldn't have an issue leaving and coming back as long as you keep your wrist bands on.
Yes, they have an entrance fee for low income earners who have WIC or EBT cards for $1
Don't quote me, I remember my friend said under $1 a child.
yes
Sc and Nc wic and ebt participates gets in for $1 a piece... without I believe its between $13 to $17 a piece. Call for specials or look on their websites.
Really depends on your pace, if you have littles with you.. my kids are 18 and 16 still really enjoyed it... But we bypassed the younger things, we're able to see the oven I Max movie ( I highly recommend it, sit near the top ).. and stopped to make something at there craft area.. and we.were.oit in 3 hours or so. Had a great time!!
There is a parking garage, I believe the fee was $12 but I'm not sure how long that covered us for.
Adults 17 dollars, children 13 dollars, only the museum. There is a ticket that includes museum + IMAX for $22
Yes they are open in December, you can check daily schedule on the website
Yes. Parking is $12 for the day, unless u park after 5. Then it's only $5. Either way, flat rate for the day.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! We saw many other couples as well having fun with all the science stuff as well!!!
I know if you have a food stamp card you can get 6 people in for $1. I'm sure the same principle applies. She must have her ID to show she is the person that owns the wic/fs card. From my understanding it's 6 people. Doesn't have to be family members.
Depends on what you want to do there. For Imax and special attractions and the museum it's slightly more. Everything is hands on and touching is encouraged. Had a great time there
If you have Food stamps $1.00 each one any day. And pays only $8.00 for parking. Normal is $12 or more.
Yes
If you have kids and plan to go more than just a few times, getting a membership is worth it. My kids love it and enjoy all of the science related activities, however, it is not a place that I would recommend for adults only.
$17 for adults and $13 for kids. Thats just get in the museum.
The prices vary depending on what you want to see. Exhibit Hall admission starts at 17.00 for adults and 13.00 for kids.
I believe it was around 12 without Imax
My favorite is the one in Uptown. I think it's the biggest of them as well.
Yes only a $1 plus parking is Half Price
There are several discounts available, including military.
It's right downtown. I used Google maps because I wasn't familiar with the area and it worked great even with all the one way streets.
As of March 2018, museum is $17 / adult $13/kid. Recommend getting a membership if you plan to go more than once/year
If you have food stamps it's only a dollar per person up to six people can go on that one card
If you get food stamps just show your food stamp card. Up to six people can get in for only a dollar a piece. I-max is cheaper for showing food stamp card. Parking is $8
Website says 15.00 for 60yrs and up
I believe you may be talking about Thinker Space. I volunteer there and it's open during normal museum hours. It's listed properly here on Google. It's a great lab for families.
