I would say yes with restrictions. Most of the trail is loose gravel/dirt. But with large tires it may be fine.
Yesss! 5 different kinds and if you're lucky you might get to see one up close if they are giving a talk on them!!
Good morning! If the bird is still in treatment you can find his file on the medical records site. Http://raptormed.carolinaraptorcenter.org.
$12 for an adult
Yes we have two sessions each day Wed-Sun 10-12:30 and 1:30-4 pm. Each is limited to 100 visitors. You can buy tickets online at raptorcenter.simpletix.com.
I'm not sure, I just paid for two and walked a path to each bird
The birds are mostly native species and in outside exhibits.
Unfortunately, we do not feed our birds birdseed at Carolina Raptor Center. They are all carnivorous. Perhaps contact someone at Audubon. Michele
Because these are animal habits, unless it's a service animal, you may not bring animals in.
Yes there is a. Fee and as park ranger for Mecklenburg county I will tell you its worth going and to see the great work they do for the many birds there.
Maybe Coopers Hawk
If you like being in the rain, then it would be loads of fun.
You can certainly hire a bird for educational events and programs! You can not purchase a raptor to own as a pet in NC though.
Call the raptor center. They do have volunteers that will come and pick up the owl. I had a similar situation a few years back and was able to visit the owl and be there on the day of his release.
Nope, cannot pet the birds....
Sorry, this is old pricing. Can you let me know where it is listed this way so I can fix it? Adults $12/ Seniors, Military, Teachers $10/ Students 4 and older $8/ children 3 and under are free/ Groups of 15 or more are $8/each (please pay as a group)
You could also call the Davidson College herpetology lab. We don’t Rehab herp’s. So sorry.
$12 for adults, 3 and under are free. There are student and senior discounts as well.
Most likely, yes but best call and discuss with the front desk.
The health and rehabilitation of raptors is always our biggest priority. Like a lot of the injured or sick birds that come to Carolina Raptor Center the Snowy Owl was treated at the hospital and only kept on our secluded rehab trail. The birds that live at CRC on the public trail for guests are our raptor ambassadors and permanent residents because they can't be released either because of injury or imprinting. The Snowy was never on the public trail and was secluded even from non-essential staff. We were very worried about the bird's recovery as it was malnourished and out of it's native habitat, so a lot of care had to go into it's recovery. This meant keeping the bird as stress free as possible. Trust us we'd love to have a Snowy at CRC for everyone to see but because NC can get so hot outside of winter it's not feasible without harming or distressing the bird. But keep an eye out in the coming year for new and exciting birds at our flight shows and encounters!
