We visited Dartmouth Orchards before the pandemic, back in October 2019 and were so pleased we stopped there. The owner was really interested in the fact that we came from Somerset, England , as that is an area with a great history of cider apple orchards and production. He even showed us the way cider is made in his sheds. We bought some apple juice (called cider in USA, cider in England is always fermented and can be really strong!!) It tasted wonderful and the selection of jams were just as tasty. We were thrilled to see the orchard still thriving and would like to thank the owner for his friendliness and making our visit a happy and memorable one.....thank you and good luck for the future!

Friendly staff , with a large assortment of trees. They only thing I found difficult was the types of trees were not labeled or at least I couldn't find any signs and what kind of apples they were. They did tell us when we first got there but as you're walking around all the trees look alike and you forget. The one thing that I did not like about this Orchard was that the only option for picking apples was a small bag with a minimum $25 per bag. Now don't get me wrong you were able to fit a good amount of apples in the bag but if you go in there just to make one apple pie you don't need $25 worth of apples. I've been to other Orchards where you just pay for what you pick that's the method that I prefer. If you're on a budget this may not be a place for you. What I did was split the cost of the apples with a friends that I was with to help offset the price. That worked out better for me if I went alone I wouldn't have picked Any just because I couldn't afford it. The only thing I can think of the reason for the $25 minimum is because it's not a huge Orchard and they need to make some type of a profit. Which is understandable.

Great little shop with a wide variety of homemade items like jam and pickles. The selection of small gourds and pumpkins were great too. They had plenty of mums as well. We went on a Friday and were disappointed to not be able to pick apples and after checking their website they did not make it clear so that is why I am giving it a 4 star but other than that I would have given them 5 stars. The owner was really kind to us and the new cashier woman was friendly. The owner made us a variety bag of apples for apple crisp with his homemade recipe so we are excited to make that!!!

$.50 a pound
No animals except the German shepard's farm Dogs Extremely friendly. Always want you to play fetch with them
No. There are two dogs living at the orchard who are friendly with people, but no other dogs are allowed in order to avoid any possible problems.
You'll have to call Brian at Dartmouth Orchards for that answer. Apple picking starts this weekend.
