I was feeling generous by giving this facility a 3 star rating. I was there after breaking a hip, which was replaced, and fracturing a shoulder in a nasty fall. I’ll go over the positives first. The physical and occupational therapists were top notch with the exception of the one who was there on the weekend. All he wanted to do was move my legs while I stayed in bed. I nearly had to beg him to get me up and walking. Jennifer, Hazel, Debra and Evelyn were both very good and very responsive. They pushed me when I needed pushing but always listened to me. Two of my regular CNAs were very good. Jackie and Rose. Polite, knowledgeable and caring. Cassandra, one of the nurses was also excellent. Always happy, never made me feel as if I was a burden and did what she said she was going to do. Priscilla in Dietary was also very good, although she’s hampered by a total lack of any system that would make her job and the patients’ mealtime better. Her staff almost never got a meal order correct, even though I was there for a month and despite the fact that my preferences were clearly marked on the computer generated slip that accompanied my meals. Most meals arrived ice cold. Meg, one of the nurses was also very nice and caring. The weekend CNAs and the ones that filled in when the regular ones were off were something else. I feel sorry for any patient who is actually sick. I had to tell every single one not to lift me on the side that had the fractured shoulder. Sone of them stared at me once they took my blankets off as if they wanted me to get out of bed myself. If I could get out of bed myself, I wouldn’t be there. Many of them lacked basic English. I could not get most of them to get my electric toothbrush to me or brush my hair after a shower. My first week there, I called for help at 11:00 at night and it was an hour and 15 minutes before anyone showed up. Several times when either myself or my roommate called at night, one of the CNAs would come in, turn on the very bright overhead lights, which was unnecessary and disruptive. Communication with Social Services was terrible. On the day I was released, paperwork was not completed, necessary injections were not provided for me to take home, they gave the medical supply company an incorrect phone number for me, resulting in nearly 4 hours of driving back and forth. Their attitude came across as lackadaisical at best. Many of the staff seemed to be able to do one thing and one thing only. I had to ask 4 people to please remove some flowers that I had received because they were dying and quite honestly, it was depressing. 4 staff people! If you asked for a glass of water to take your meds with, it was hit or miss depending on which nurse you got. One nurse opened the package that held my blood thinner injection WITH THE FORK THAT I HAD JUST EATEN BREAKFAST WITH! I tried to focus on the positive while I was there. I think many of the issues that I encountered were due to poor or non-existent communication and a severe staffing issue. I’m thankful for the care I received from the therapists and my regular CNAs.

I do have to say i just got here last night, after a 14 day stay in the hospital. I have been in rehabs before, with my last experience, at a place i will not name, being a nightmare. The difference in quality and care between the two is night and day. I have had fast, caring attention to my arrival, from nursing to dietary and therapy. Everyone is so kind, the place is pretty outside, with mature landscaping, and well decorated on the inside. Sorry, I'm not a writer. There is a koi pond at the entrance, pictures hang on the wall, it looks like home, as much as can be. Covid restrictions put a hitch in the get along of some things, but along those same lines, covid testing is upfront and frequent. I want to go back home when I'm better, but i think I'm going to be happy while I'm here.

I had the opportunity and privilege of bringing communion to the Catholic residents. It has been too long since I was there. I will be setting up a day and time to resume weekly visits. God bless the staff and residents

Not be happier with the quality Care here. It's quiet and peaceful. The staff have been here for a long time. Very little turnover. The staff are kind, loving, helpful. Thank you quality care for being here for me when I needed you. The physical space is tired but the quality of service far outweighs that.
