Platform Engagement

My mom spent 10 wonderful years at Westminster Shores. The community feel and activities helped her make wonderful friends. She had card playing friends, and church going friends, and service league friends and on and on. And when it was time for mom to leave The Shores and go into memory care, Brian Parks, Brett Montegny and team helped make the transition seamless and meaningful. They helped us put together a See You Soon Party that made mom feel like one million dollars and then some. On behalf of my mother, Phyllis Rabb, we have nothing but love and five stars for Westminster Shores. Amenities are awesome, but a caring staff and culture is what really matters. Thank you! And yes, my mom, two sisters, and I all highly recommend.

We are exploring options in senior living communities and met with Becky Johnson at Westminster Shores. Our visit was an unexpected delight. Becky guided us around the community with expertise and knowledge, listening closely to our desires and tailoring a visit to meet all our needs. She answered every question, even those we hadn’t thought to ask, and did it with a smile and a greeting to every staff member and resident we passed. She is a gem, the property is lovely, and we will certainly return again to advance our plans for a future that will include Westminster Shores. Thanks Becky!

I moved into the Shores in December of 2021. It is the best decision that I could have made at this time in my life. My wife and I had been snowbirds between Ruskin and Cleveland, Ohio, for 20 years. When she passed in November of 2020, I moved into an apartment in Gulfport for a year trying to decide what I wanted to do next. When I heard about the Shores, I inquired and immediately felt that I was entering into a warm, caring, and supportive community. I tell my friends that being here is like a cross between college and summer camp. We have our own complete living units and can have all of our meals in the dining hall, where we have a chance to meet and socialize with many interesting and lively people. It feels like summer camp, because every day we are offered a wide variety of social and recreational opportunities on the campus or in the community with bus transportation included. The feeling that I get from my experience with the other residents is that the age dial has been set back significantly, as every one seems to be lively and active disguising their age. Some days I pinch myself and wonder how I could be in such a wonderful place.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to you to express my appreciation for the excellent customer service that Becky Johnson, Sales Director and Angela Huntley gave us during our visit at Westminster Shores in St. Pete last Friday. After Becky’s presentation, Angela took her time and gave us a 2-hour tour through the whole area. She was outstanding in answering all our questions. I am incredibly pleased with the quality of customer service provided to Jane and myself. I know Westminster Shores is staffed with many outstanding professional men and women who put 110 percent into their job every day and many times receive no thanks in return. I want to let you know how much I appreciate the way your people are in helping their customers. It is individuals like Angela Huntley who reinforce Westminster Shores positive image to your customers, without a doubt we were extremely satisfied with the information she gave us and have a wonderful impression of your company. Much Appreciated, Jeff Thomas U.S. Air Force Freedom isn't FREE

What are hurricane evacuation plans?

Carolyn Jouret | Sep 9, 2017
Nancy Muth | Oct 13, 2021

In the past Westminster Shores has had to evacuate residents due to hurricanes. Most recently during Hurricane Irma, residents were evacuated to a local church and The Shores provided wonderful care. NOW Independent Living residents are being told they are on their own in case of hurricane. The property is in a zone where residents are among the first told that they must evacuate in case of a storm. We were told when we moved in that we would be evacuated by The Shores but that promise no longer made.

I am interested. What are the costs and the layout of the units

You can rent a place here, or buy in for continuous care, you can't purchase. There may be some studio apartments available, also 1,2,3 bedroom apartments and single family houses. You should attend one of the special events or contact the marketing office here for a tour. It's a wonderful lifestyle with many nice people and good neighbors. Costs depend on many things, including the size of your home. My mother lives here and loves it, I enjoy visiting this community.

Your unit is to be cleaned (bathrooms, kitchen and floors) one every two weeks. You are also promised a thorough annual cleaning. The bi-weekly cleanings are probably a three out of five. The annual cleanings, if they happen, are about a two out of five for thorough cleaning.
