Awful bank go somewhere else…. Never have enough people to help and are rude and don’t care about their customers.

I was sadly really disappointed in my experience with this bank and branch overall. I started an account with a promotion back in February and the associate helping me gave me incorrect information (unbeknownst to me) regarding the promotion so months later when I inquired about it, they shared with me that I was given misinformation and would likely miss out on the offer because the rep I had worked with was no longer employed there. After multiple tries to speak with someone over the phone- including a branch manager- over the last couple months and multiple attempts to get answers, I was never followed up with. After a final attempt to make a phone appointment today, I was finally given an answer at least. Nothing could be done for me so I am sadly canceling my account. I had high hopes that my situation would be turned into an opportunity to show excellent customer service and take care of me as a new customer who was clearly given wrong information by a previous bank representative, but sadly it was not. It's really too bad as well because I feel that Fifth Third Bank did not take me seriously as a customer from the way I was treated. My husband and I are business owners and could likely have invested money into a business account had we had a better experience. It's just a lesson that winning a customer with customer service can literally win customers for life. It makes or breaks a business. I must thank Tyler today however who really listened to me and sought to find answers quickly and treated me with utmost respect and kindness out of all the people I had spoken with on the phone previously. Thank you Tyler- it meant a lot that you went out of your way to care for me and my situation.

Terrible customer service, terrible response to the PPP Program. Completely dropped the ball. Many small businesses will be failing because of Fifth Thirds incompetence. Why would you only allow applications to be completed over the phone, but not give anyone a phone number to call? I have yet to receive a call more than 6 days after completing the "pre-application". Supposedly you are completely overwhelmed by this new process and the number of inquiries. Then wouldn't it make sense to allow your customers to complete the SIMPLE AND EASY documents by themselves and submit to you electronically? Neither big enough to be competent, nor small enough to give you the service of a local community bank.

I had to cash a check. Fifth Third Bank makes it easy, especially for people like me who are always on the go. I am a contractor so I am in Tampa one day, St Pete the next, then.Davis Island and so on. Finding a Fifth Third is convenient and easy and it's never over a 15 minute wait.
