Nature at it's best our favorite spot. Come with pants long sleeves some kind of a weapon and bear spray wouldn't hurt. Do not come by yourself or with a pet and bring water! . We have done this multiple times. Seen deer, otters, coyote, big otters by the families, A huge Bald Eagle in the path flapping its wings. Numerous hawks. We haven't seen a hog but we can see tracks. And the best was a very nice size bear crossing the path. So this is why I say a weapon or bear spray .....awesome place

First time walking here. Nice and peaceful. Trail is in good condition, thinking about bringing our bikes next time.

Questions & Answers

Me and my family Would like to take our dog but im concerned about him interacting with the wildlife especially with the monkeys around the area. Will they not bother with him as long as he doesn't as well? Or will they be curious seeing a dog.

depends on the breed of dog. a small breed of dog you shouldn't bring because of the various species of predatorial birds (and because of gators), larger breeds of dogs would be left alone by most animals, monkeys included. so if you have a large breed of dog then it should be fine, as long as he/she does not enter the water or stray too far from you.

Dear James, this is an interesting question, but I do not know; the Park's web site should mention it. At any rate, it is very big and beautiful, it has the water, and the forest
