(ZERO STARS) Ive been going to Dr. Aziz for years and today was one of the worst days ever. After having a break through with my therapist we agreed that my medication was not effective to resolve my issues rather a cushioned bandaid. I made an appointment with no problem and told The Dr. I wanted to work on the underlining symptoms and resolve them instead of a temporary fix. WE agreed and that same day I picked up my scripts (hand written) and took them to CVS. A) it wasn't covered by my insurance, B). the card they gave me was not effective and was ran by CVS 6 times, C) CVS contacted Dr. Azizi's office multiple times. I was then told that because I didn't provide proof from my therapist that I had been seeing that I could not get an alternative medication. They said I needed to get test run by my THERAPIST as proof. THEY insinuated after I refused to pay $500 for a trial drug after two years that I WAS falsifying information to get new meds(when I spoke to the doctor and asked what I needed to do to get HELP). I asked "well will all of the other prescriptions get canceled since you don't have any other history for the drugs I've been receiving?" I was told no and to look for another psychological review to receive help. WHAT REPUTABLE OFFICE prescribes drugs and then says the therapist has to do a psychological evaluation to prescribe alternate DRUGS? IF HE WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR MY RECORDS FROM THE GET GO I would have no issue. BUT the shame I feel for trusting this office/Dr. with my medicine and most importantly my mental state is heart breaking. AFTER two years ... to discard me like a piece of trash and insinuate Im a scammer, DISGUSTING ???? ZERO STARS, RUN AWAY!

This is an awesome place for anyone with substance abuse or PTSD symptoms. I had access to a phone between activities and four classes per day along with three hot meals. My room was cleaned every morning at 6am. Four stars because it does not have many vegetarian options at meals.

Best place for detox in central Florida that I’ve been to. Almost all staff were caring and professional and the unit I was on was very clean. Group therapy sessions overall were very well run. Check in can take awhile so be prepared. They took care of my dietary needs too (vegetarian). I met some great people here!

If i was able to give -5 stars i would. This past weekend I was admitted voluntarily. From the start i was assured every one would be separated and i wouldnt be placed near anyone triggering. Knowing i have PTSD and a past of self harm i was placed with many men with no room to escape to by myself. The rooms being locked from 7 am - 10 pm daily. And my roommate had been admitted with scars all over their arms. The main reason i was admitted was for major depressive disorder and my anxiety attacks. Throughout my stay i was having constant anxiety attacks that had been avoided by all staff besides a quick “calm down, or theyll keep you longer” i would have to say my biggest comfort the whole stay was other patients. The only people who had any compassion were those in the same position as me. At intake I explained i had food allergies such as gluten and lactose which were ignored and i was given in the 3 day stay a bag of fruit. When in line for my lunch one day a staff member took it upon herself to scoff at the food i had grabbed and say “doesnt that have lactose.. never mind” food that i did not eat but i would be marked for not grabbing anything. Every night i was puking stomach acid and tums the only people to my aid my roommate who had been in worse condition than me. I witnessed someone come in for trying to OD on xanax be prescribed 4 xanax a DAY. She was unable to feel. Thats how they fix depression. I was repeatedly asked on my stay to “use my coping mechanisms” the ones i had not been taught which was the reason for my stay. Many times i heard guests say “i will never ask for help again” “this is what you get for reaching out”. One guest even said they PREFERRED JAIL. in conclusion all i learned from my stay was people are being payed to disregard human life and treat us like criminals no matter the circumstances. At one point during a conversation with other patients I realized they had let all the males keep on underwear and not turn around for their strip search. Something i was unable to do sadly. Leaving this place all i felt was more traumatized and some survivors guilt for leaving those who actually needed help in such a cold/ awful place

How do you allow adolescents brought in on a Baker Act to receive NO medication after being seen by doctor. ... and to bring them out at night , because they are unable to sleep, and allow them to help with adult staff members ? Run. Far. Away.

Andrea Lynn | Sep 8, 2020
Laurie Friend | Sep 9, 2019

They need to be seen by the medical doctors and psychologist prior to medication being given, and the staff probably felt it was safer for them to have the child with a staff member at all times,a one on one to better ensure your child's safety and keep his mind occupied since he could not sleep..Everything is done on an individual basis with only the best, caring intentions..

We are actually living in Puerto Rico and we need help with our daughter that has Depression with psychosis, ADHD and Oppositional Disorder. We have a second home in Orlando. Do we have to be residents of Florida? She has Medicaid from PR.

Félix y Rosana Correa | Sep 9, 2018
Heather Fennell | Sep 9, 2018

You do not need to be a florida resident. But please pick another facility to go to as this one is completely bad. The staff are mentally ill and they let minors go without parental consent.

The University of Behavioral Health is a MEDICAL facility. Ask'n about or giving answers about a patient can break a number of laws including HIPPA & patient confidentiality, depending on what kind of treatment the patient is getting. That said, "IfU havA question about a patient, you must call the facility. IfUR not related to the patient, call the immediate relative of the patient and either they can givU the info or can add you to a list of approved callers."
