We drove across Florida to Clearwater during our 2 week trip from the UK for the day. It was honestly the best food we had during our two week trip. The burgers are amazing. The waitress was really nice and the bill was not too bad.

Don’t even use the restrooms here! We had parked close to Toucans and were all hungry so figured what the heck let’s try it. First impression was made by the bathrooms. Absolutely filthy! Second was the prices on the menu. Ordered the build your own burger and was charged for everything put on it….not how the menu leads you to believe it is. Waitresses were small talking where we could hear then making comments about the other employees mood for the day. Far from professional especially for the prices they charge. Although I will say the burger patty was freshly hand made and was fairly good considering the price. Made me chuckle just now saw the owner replied to another review in regards to the prices of everything being so high. I understand that as I’m in business myself…..no excuse for not trying to keep a clean and professional environment no matter how much your cost are! Owner needs to take constructive criticism and better his establishment from it…..not get defensive. As well as read and comprehend what was said and not take it out of context.

Live music, lively night scene, good energy. Walking back to the hotel around 10pm, stopped for a drink because live music going. Good drink options, nice inside and outside seating. Really it seems like a nice place, our experience was a little lackluster with the service, waited 10ish minutes for a server to free up to be seated, placed a drink order immediately to cut down on wait time, took another 15ish minutes for some pretty simple drinks. Drink order was right, no complaints there. Unfortunately I'm assuming, like everybody else, they're suffering from staffing issues, making for extended wait times.

Good alternative if you can’t get in anywhere else. We wanted to eat at Salty Crab, but couldn’t wait 1.5 hours. So walking down the street we saw we could seat immediately at Toucan’s. That in itself should have been an indicator. My wife had to use the bathroom and when she came out, looked like she had seen a ghost. Not clean, at all. Second indicator. The mixed drinks were pretty bad and the food was similar to what you’d expect at Perkins or Denny’s- basic and lacking flavor. The prices are actually much higher than you’d expect at a dive bar. But it is main strip in a tourist town. Our server was good and it was a fun atmosphere. But I wouldn’t recommend eating here unless you have no place else to go.
