I traveled from Tallahassee to Gainesville and Arrived at my 7month olds 3pm appointment at 230. I knew I was early and I had expected to wait. The waiting room was not busy. At 315 we ask what the wait time was and we didn't get a clear answer. We knew the baby was going to want to eat soon. We get called back a little after 330. The nurse who called us back told us we were supposed to be sitting in an area specially made for kids but we were never told that. During our appointment the student doctors would come in do an exam then the actual doctor would come in and do the same exam again. I don't mind the teaching aspect but what I do mind is the complete disregard that my infant son has a small window where he is cooperative. The doctor himself was very dry not someone I would pick to work with children. As a children's eye doctor I would have thought things would have moved a little quicker . We were there a total of 3 hours. That means we walked out almost an hour after the office closes at 5 . When we walked out there was a sign telling us to slip our checkout paper in a box and they would call us for a follow-up. I couldn't even get the paper to sign up for an online account. It was a ghost town! We walked out of the office to realize the the entrance to the mall was locked and we had to walk all the around. Since there were still patients in the office you would think at least one person would be available. I'm just honestly disappointed since the care at uf is highly praised

My son and I travel to Gainesville from Lutz (1hr 50 minutes) to see the Neuro Ophthalmologist Dr Buchowicz who is absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable of her craft and how to help her patients. I have every bit faith and confidence she takes good care of my son's eye health resulting from a stroke that left him with a brain 🤕 injury and residual 👀 vision issues. God is good and has blessed us with every top Dr in there field to help she's heal my son and I continue to pray she is the bedroom God works through to get him where he needs to be to return to living a full & independent life. I'm so grateful.

These people are the definition of worthless. I drove a single mom 6 hours to get here for an appointment for a 1 year old. They decide the baby needs tubes, has to be done tommorow, but sorry, we can't keep you over night. I guess they expect her and the baby to sleep in the parking lot. I'm trying my best to help her, but we are running out of options. Just complete trash.good thing I was here, cause these people could obviously care less about this girl and her baby.

They test for everything at UF Eye. It's a full clinic from cataracts to pediatrics. Just be warned, the wait can be horrendous, but they are good and honest which means they don't do needles procedures
