Great location, affordable rent.

An unfortunate change in this community. It has been a year this community has been without any consistent maintenance men or Janitors. Many Seniors have complained that some of the temporary maintenance have entered their apartments without knocking or ringing the front door bell. Carpets in the hallways have not been vacuumed in months, unless there's an inspection and in July, the Assistant Manager was doing the vacuuming to prepare for the inspection! The building itself has declined in every aspect and management and the Lutheran board itself does not, cannot, or chose not to care that the Seniors have rotting broken pipes, black water backing up in the sinks. Windows that scream in heavy wind or storms, rotated appliance, almost never new ones. Air conditioners that leak for MONTHS at a time, and when allegedly fixed, it takes months before they replace the ceiling. The garbage bin full of trash was left at the back door for days until a rat running around made someone threaten to call the Health Department before it was removed. Work orders go ignored and since the onset of Covid19, all events have been discontinued and never mentioned again. This building location is superb and convenient to everything. The Seniors here put up with the now deplorable, dirty and unsafe living conditions because it's too difficult to move, and most Independent Senior Communities have long wait lists. A catastrophic series of events May 2021 disabled both elevators, residents were displaced, no one was offered hotels or Red Cross aid, others made the trek up the stairs and some were fortunate to have family come for them. Management was of no help. I write this for my Aunt, who is so stressed day after day because something awful happens or her work order is ignored and she is told they have no one to work, but she loves her neighbors, who help and comfort one another and hope and pray that things will change for the better like it used to be.

The people were very kind there. The only drawback is a three-year plus waiting list. But I can see why. Location is awesome. What I saw of the building, it is in good condition very clean and very organized.
