I parked car on 2/12/22 for less than an hour. When I went to leave, the payment kiosk could not read my ticket after numerous tries. Kept giving me an error message "could not read ticket". I went to the parking office but there was no one there even tho backpack there. Had to put in Lost Ticket in order to for the gate to go up and I had to pay $23 for an error on their part. This is ridiculous that you have no way to call or reach someone when there is a problem.

The parking garage itself isn't that bad. They actually have decent spots, and it's in a pretty good location. The problem is the customer service. First of all, when you pull in, apparently, there's a sign that sign that says, you can't park backwards. Which, if you don't notice that in all the commotion when you're trying to reach through the window to stretch your arm out an extra four inches beyond it's normal length,to grab to the ticket because of the way the ticket dispenser is situated, you just don't notice that sign. Then when you finally get a spot, and for me, I have an electric car, sometimes you need to park it a certain way to get the charger cord to the charging port. Well, I did what I thought was best, backed it in, charged the car. There were no signs whatsoever that give you the “don’t back in” warning. I was, I believe, the only car in the entire parking garage, so I thought, at least I'm giving them some business. When I went back to get my car, I guess they take advantage of the only car that does decide to park there and give them a ticket. Yes, I had a parking ticket. I've never seen a situation where you can actually have a parking ticket inside a parking garage when you've paid the bill. The ticket was for parking backwards. When I approached the guy about it, he said there's a sign right now, extremely rudely, that I should of seen, to tell me I can't park backwards. I explained, I have an electric car. He explained to me, it didn't matter, because I could of reached it, even if I parked in a different fashion. I asked him, if he could just forgive it this time because I didn't know, and didn't see the sign. He said, no, and I'm allowed to give tickets. Then it got worse from there and I just left. With an attitude and what I believe to be a money generating machine. Never park there again. I would highly recommend, no one else as well. This is obviously owned by a private enterprise that can not remotely see the forest from the trees. Way to treat your residents.

Free public parking lot on Palm in downtown Sarasota. Easy entry and exit. Never very crowded. Pretty good location.
