My experience today was less than stellar. To start, I called before going. There was no mention of the entire office shutting down for lunch. I didn't know places of business continued doing this. Usually one will go, while the others cover, so business continues - but that's too efficient - lets shut it down completely so citizens will have to waste time waiting on them!!! Then, you wait in line only to be told you must go to a computer room to complete your request. The manner in which the questions are posed leave it to interpretation, not clear at all; which led to the birth certificate I requested for someone else, being printed for myself, by the Hispanic employee. Fortunately, I realized it before getting on the elevator. However, she left her workspace, so a black woman (Washington) assisted me. I explained to her the error. She advised me to complete the paper form instead of returning to the computer. I asked her a question to get clarity so the same error wouldn't be repeated. She replied with a sarcastic response. smh......then, to top it all off, I had to pay for the incorrect certificate and the correct certificate......HORRIBLE experience!!!!

Typical government employees they don't want to help customers. They just want to hurry up and get rid of you. I guess they have something else to do besides their job.

Only mildly more helpful than the Raleigh ROD. No notification of receipt of application. Two weeks wait to receive mailed certified copies. Getting my marriage recorded & copies was a painful process.

Well, you can file your power of attorney in Wake County, but I am not sure about Durham County. With the many changes in agencies to be all inclusive, I would think you could file your power of attorney likewise. I would call to confirm. I hope I helped more than hurt your quest for an answer.
