I enjoy the layout of these gardens; the terraces, the architecture, and most of all the flora and fauna. I come from the East Coast and we have very beautiful gardens there and the Sunken Gardens in Lincoln represents a small portion of those back home to me. I take photos as often as I can of new and interesting things I find there. The only drawbacks are the enormous amount of hostas taking up residence and the lack of information provided for each type of plant. There are so many different species that could grow well where the hostas are planted, it's a shame so much space is dedicated to them alone. There are many gorgeous flowers and plants despite the plethora of hostas and having placards that identify them would be a terrific way to engage people's interest further in what the Gardens offer. Outside of those two things, I love to stroll along the pathways and gaze into the koi ponds. If I had more leisure time than I do currently, I would definitely spend much more of it here.

This place never disappoints! So much work goes in to making it a lovely place. Year around. Spring is my favorite season, but I live out of town and fortunately missed the crocus, daffodils, and hyacinths. I was lucky to have caught my favorite flowers, tulips, still in bloom. Stop by if you are ever in the area and need a little nature lift.

My wife loves this place took her on a “tour” of Lincoln and it was probably her favorite spot. She wants me to propose here lol. We took our kids at a later date and they had fun and loved the koi fish in the 2 ponds.

Sunken Gardens in Lincoln Nebraska is not as big as the Sunken Gardens in Canada but very pretty 🌷🌹💐🌸 The Sunken Garden is free to visit, parking was easy to find. The garden is very peaceful with lots of beautiful flowers, fountains and ponds with koi fish 🐠 🐟

It's an Excellent place to Relax and Visit with your Gal as the Flowers are Truly Amazing
If u cross over capitol Pkwy on 27th going then u will see Amigos (American-mexican), Hong Kong restaurant, little casears(pizza place), and goodcents (sub place).
They have already taken all the flowers out for winter, the bare flower beds are not much to look at. It will all be planted again next year. The koi remain but January time frame the ponds are generally frozen over.
No, not really
Off too 1 side there is a pavilion. It's also directly across the street from a park that has said amenities within a short walk. A resourceful person could do a picnic lunch here. Pack it in. Pack it out.
Parking lot is right next to the gardens at 26th and D street or park on the side streets around in the area like C street, D street, or on 26th and walk to the Sunken Gardens or across 27th Street at the zoo and rose garden parking lot and walk over
Very much so, very few areas with stairs and there are ramp options to get around them
Absolutely is. Once they plant the flowers this month and they all start taking root and everything gets back living, it's such a beautiful place to go for the months until about mid September normally.
