This shop changed ownership not long ago and the new owner (JJ, tall, soft spoken, well-mannered) specializes in SMOG/Oil Charge, and gives great service at an excellent price (best in the region) while you wait. The very few negative reviews didn't really do him justice and from the timestamp some were probably before his ownership. I now rely on JJ for the SMOG/Oil Change needs of my family and friends (last count at 6 cars). Reliable and consistent service. Highly recommend.

We brought our perfectly functioning truck in for a smog check. The owner told us there was a check engine light was on that related to the cigarette lighter and changing the fuse would fix that. Once he changed the fuse our truck wouldn't start at all. He didn't know why and offered to run a diagnostic check for $150.00 and was very defensive about the situation. We chose to have the truck towed to our trusted mechanic who fixed the issue. A critical switch was triggered - even our kind tow truck driver suspected that. We chose to give the owner the benefit of the doubt and went to discuss the issue a couple of days later. We both were met with hostility, denial and zero accountability. We were shocked at his attitude and will be working on reporting him and getting the word out that he takes no responsibility for his actions. A very upsetting experience from a local business.

This is the greatest smog check location in the whole Bay Area. The guy running the show is very smart, quick, does not waste time and best of all - incredibly this is the cheapest smock check place I have ever found. Unlike others, they don't try to sell extra services or push unnecessary options. Even if they are obviously pretty busy, I still had to wait less time than other places with just one car in front of me. This is one of those five star reviews where it really mean extremely good service and incredible value.
