The ambience was ok but then we weren't here for the ambience but for the food. We had the Shrimp Creole and the Seafood Okra Gumbo for our main course. The Shrimp Creole was fantastic and was a delight to eat. The flavours were great. The Seafood Gumbo was a bit of a let down though. It just lacked flavour which was something we didn't expect considering the name of the restaurant has 'Gumbo' in it. Finally, for dessert, we had the Warm Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. This one was again a delight. Absolutely great. I would go here again just for the dessert.

I really enjoyed the gumbo here, along with our whole party. We had the vegetarian gumbo, chicken gumbo, seafood gumbo, blackened fish, and sausage with mustard. Everything was great. The placed is kinda small, so you will be sitting close to others. Very reasonably priced! I would definitely return. Their hot sauce and spice were excellent so we bought some for home!

I came here right after I landed, and the line was so long. It probably took 45 minutes to get in and seated. I was solo dining and they didn’t have a bar area unfortunately so I had to wait for a table. I had a nice one right by the window which I enjoyed! They bring out a loaf of warm bread and butter to the table after you order. I had a cup of the chicken/andouille gumbo which was delicious! I highly recommend that to anybody! It was so rich and flavorful. I also had a cup of the jambalaya which was good but next to the gumbo seemed a little bland. The server recommended a little bit of the hot sauce on top which was great! Service was very very very slow so if you are in a rush or are starving then this probably isn’t the best option. For two small cups of food this was a 2 hour ordeal.

I liked the chicken/sausage gumbo much better than the seafood gumbo. I assume the sausage gives it more flavor vs the bland seafood gumbo. I kinda expected out of this world gumbo since it was recommended, however, it wasn't. It was very, very good though. My search continues for the world's best gumbo. We were forced to sit outside when the temps just dropped to 50s...my husband and I had a vaccine card but my son didn't so they made us sit outside so don't forget to bring your vaccine cards! My son had the penne pasta and he said it was pretty good.

They have the space but you absolutely must call and pre arrange a gathering of that size.
have you tried one of the many recipes found on the internet? normally French bread is used
Yes they will offer traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
If you have a spare pot or hollow leg I would just order bowl after bowl at this place and fill it.
Masks for the employees and customers, as well as decent table sanitation.
Yes. They are open.
The Gumbo shop has closed down I was three weeks ago.
I think the seafood okra gumbo dont have pork I just visit that location about two weeks and was very good
sure
There is a courtyard inside the building. You should call the restaurant about the dog. I doubt it.
No they don't unfortunately...this gumbo is scratch made which means the base is started with a flour rich roux.
I had the sample with shrimp creole jambalaya and crawfish Eteffetou (that last word may be spelled wrong sorry) but it was super good Nd for the appetizer I had alligator sausage so yummy
No, French Quarter is not easy to park in. You will want to walk around anyhow!
No reservations but if your party is more than 4people expect a lengthy wait
No dress code. I had a polo, jeans and open-toe sandals
