This place laughed at my daughter when we came in desperate for help for our beloved Cat who was very sick. Without offering an actual solution.

This place sounds lovely and like a great place to work at. All the hate is undeserved! I plan to volunteer:)

Michelle and the volunteers are passionate about rescuing and caring for the kitten/ cat population.

Free-roaming animal shelter that's 100% no-kill. They primarly have cats, but also house a few dogs. On a daily basis, they are home to an average of about 100 cats on average. They help facilitate over 200 adoptions a year. They provide food, medical attention, and care and love to all their animals. In the words of one volunteer, "they are just as much a hospice as a shelter." They define what a humane society should be, providing love and care to animals who have been abused, abandoned, or that just need a home. They run solely off donations and support from the community. Please consider adopting, and if you would like to volunteer, attend a volunteer orientation Tuesday evenings at 6 pm.

Please call us at 816-318-4357 and Michelle can get you set up with an orientation before you will start volunteering, thanks for helping us out, we definitely need help!
Tammy, can we help with the medication? We actually get this donated alot or could get a sponsor for it? That would be really rough for a sick 15 year old cat to end up in a shelter, we would be happy to help with the meds. *cyndi
Sure :-) *cyndi
Yes Kim, you can drop it off and if they are closed just drop it off at the front door!!!
Destiny, thank you for reaching out! We have a foster application online on our website www.helphumane.org click the foster application tab at the top right and complete it and it will come straight to my email box. We are about to blow in to kitten season which is where we need kitten and families of cats/kittens the most! We specialize in cats, we only a few dogs. Would love to hear from you! *cyndi
Hi Nancy, we would be happy to have the donation!! If we are not open when you want to drop it by, you can leave it at the front door, thanks so much for thinking of us!! *cyndi
Yes they will
Yes!! We would love to have it, would you be able to deliver? Thank you so much for thinking of us!!! *cyndi
No they do not. Suggest Pet Project or Wayside.
We do not at this time, check out petfinder.com and you can do a search for one *cyndi
Nope. Just cats
Dusty, what kind of treatment does he need?
They do not have rabbits. Try contacting KCPP.
Hi Stephanie! We do not have any, have you tried Wayside Waifs or KC Pet Project? *cyndi
EVERYTHING IS NEUTERED OR SPAYED... Read what they do prior to Adoption.. And What is included in the Adoptiom Fee..
No, there are no Rottweilers.
Call animal control and report him.
We do not, have you tried Wayside?
Help Humane can't really help dogs unless they are small, and even then they have low capacity. They focus more on cats at that location. I hope you can figure something out with Layla, but your best bet is probably Wayside Waifs or something.
That's not true^ they had 3 dogs when I went last week. Best way to contact them is to email or leave a message on their answering machine.
It's an animal shelter that's maxed out. Animals smell, naturally. The fact that you got denied means they do their homework.
They cannot take your furry friend since they are at capacity and cash strapped. Sorry
No.
No, I think that you would have to go to KC Pet Project
I am sorry Jolie but because of lack of volunteer and financial support, we have an intake freeze for an undetermined length of time :-( HELP Humane
You can try, but they're very full. You can also try Wayside Waifs. Maybe someone else will comment on this post with other suggestions.
Unfortunately we are at capacity. Check petfinder.com or adoptapet.com to search for other rescues and shelters availability. Believe me when we say we wish we never had to say no, it hurts us more than you can imagine :-( *cyndi
Hi Dan, we specialize in cats and shelter very few dogs and we are full right now. Check out adoptapet.com or petfinder.com and check for other rescues and shelters
HELP Humane's purpose is not to rehome surrendered animals. Wayside Waifs would be better for that, but you'll need to pay a fee. If you can't afford that, go ahead and drop by HELP Humane to ask. They take wonderful care of their cats, and will most likely do their best to help
Elk's event space in Grandview. 13600 arrington rd.
Sure!! *cyndi
We are completely over capacity. There could not be a worse time during the year to try and find an open spot for a cat in a shelter or rescue :-( *cyndi
Are these stray kittens? If yes, your local animal control should be able to help you. We are at capacity at this time. If this is your cat's kittens, please let us know if you need help getting the mama spayed to prevent more unwanted cats. It so sad and upsetting to see so many unwanted kittens.
U should really try and rehome them yourself first as they get so many (spay and neuter first please) but u can call and see but I believe u have to use your area shelter
They do take cat-size dogs, but you would need to ask them directly about pick up.
HELP Humane mostly works with cats. If you really want to work with dogs, you might have better luck at a different shelter like Wayside Waifs. If you're okay with cats or dogs, I'm sure they'd love the help
Call and ask. The cat isn't feral if you can pet it by the way. If they don't be sure to take it to a no kill shelter or find a home
We specialize in cats. So we only have a few dogs. We have a senior Dachshund mix, a Shar-Pei mix, and a rat terrier however the last one may be adopted after tomorrow
