They are considered amongst the very best eye hospitals in the world. Your mileage may vary and i hope you have tremendous success there. In my own experience i find them more concerned about stats than science. Fixing or attempting to fix something but risking the chance of not succeeding is WORSE to them than not trying at all. Be careful of their surgeons. When every tool you have is a hammer all problems look like a nail, right? I’ve also had ADA concerns with the hospital. Baffling, considering you would assume they have tremendous experience with the disabled. Long story short, if you are even sniffing around Bascom, I’m sure it’s a horrible situation you find yourself and I’m sure you’re scared. I would never tell someone in that predicament not to try everything. But in my experience the nicest thing i can say about them is at least they’re clean.

Dr. Ellen Koo is my physician who helped me during the beginning of Covid 19. You were concerned w/ Covid 19 I was concerned w/ Blindness in my right eye which is another story. My entire cornea was eaten away and had to be replaced I also had cataracts. One doctor admitted his procedure of replacing my cornea would cause more blood lost he knew of a updated procedure however didnot learn the procedure and recommended Dr. Ellen Koo 😉. I must say. 😉Dr.Ellen Koo answered her calling as a physician...I was woke during the procedure and felt like I was at a health Spa. Also every visit I go to which are my follow up are pleasant to say the least ..I still have to have stitches removed her hands are touched by skilled knowledge and experience....Thankyou Dr. Koo and her Staff are pleasant ❤♥💖each visit ❤.

I actually hate doing this, but I can not honestly recommend the ophthalmologist I saw. I know how good the BPEI is because I trained there. The quality of care was excellent, however this particular person pressured me into having surgery every time I saw him. The last time I saw him, he even pressured me into having surgery that was not in his speciality. Surgery that I absolutely didn’t need. I will not name names, but always take care when agreeing to have elective surgery, especially when you feel pressured. Second opinions are too easy to get.

Although the clinic has good doctors, waiting time is ridiculously long. If you work, be prepared to take half a day off from work for a visit. My appointment was at 1:30 and I was waiting until at 3:45 when I was told that the doctor still had 3 patient ahead of me. My appointment was routine and the time I usually spent with the doctor is not more then 15 minutes. The office has a sign that average “appointment” takes about 2-4 hours. This is how long it takes to wait.

Mostly likely not. Would be better to go to the miami location. You have a better chance of getting stuff done sooner. That is where the emergency room is.
I just made an appointment
Yes Bascom Palmer Eye Institute takes health insurance in answer to your question. Also just in case you don't know you made to bring lunch with you because the whole process can sometimes take 4 to 5 hours. They are very thorough in the exam of your eyes. They do photos to check for any problems, also they check for Cancer, they do Ultrasound when necessary. Anything else that is needed 😌 to completely check you out.
You should see/call your eye care professional.
Call your eye specialist.
No. There are no forms to fill out.
Yes they do.
I would cancel. 102 is pretty high for an adult.
