Case manager with no medical experience or qualifications dismissed my illness as “superficial” and forbid me to go to the ER. As my illness progresssed, I went to Desert Regional and sat in the waiting room for hours but not checking in. I finally passed out and fell on the floor. Paramedics brought me into the back room and they took blood. About 30 minutes later they came back gone and told me that I had a rare bacteria in my system and if left untreated I could die. When I told the doctor about my experience at the DAP he was furious and told me not to take medical advice from anyone who is not a healthcare professionals. When I went back to the DAP I told them about my experience and the case manager was angry with me because I did not listen to him. Ever since then I have had a number of bad experiences at the DAP.

Impossible to talk to anyone, everyone I know is getting their monkeypox vaccine....except us. Unacceptable.

I was a patient there for 7 years. I was assigned a new Doctor I did not like, and when I complained I was told I could no longer be seen by clinic. DAP is a perfect example of a facility that started out with a good mission but got to big and no longer cares about the patient. They seem more worried about interior design of the place and constantly remodeling. It would be nice if they treated the patient as well as they do the building.

The service and care at DAP in my opinion has completely collapsed. The office staff are disinterested and medical providers are entitled, complacent and non - responsive. If you need to be seen without an appointment, you may as well give up, just go to an ER someplace. They take no responsibility for your care and treatment here and they will defer all blame to you, the client. Don't risk your life with these people, there are other care options in the Desert! Personally, I have filed a grievance with my insuror and with the State of California as well. Good luck be careful.

Yes. Go to The Dock at DAP and they will help you.
The cost for STI testing and initial treatment is $25.
The DOCK offers testing for STIs, HCV, and HIV and provides PrEP and PEP counseling. If you are concerned about HPV, Herpes or other conditions, or are in need of a PAP test, please ask us about becoming a Health Center client, or make an appointment with your primary care physician.
I'm sorry to hear that Paul. What could DAP have done to make your experience better?
