A spectacular spot for migratory birds during January and February. If you are going through Blythe, head South and check it out. You might see Snow Geese, Canada Geese, Burrowing Owls, Cranes and more. Worth a visit.

Good fishing, lots of waterfowl, and some gold up in the hills. I think I smelled a skunk in the area, lol. There are lots of free camp spots on the river with shade for your coach, camper or tent.

Loved it. Really enjoyed talking with the lady working there, great to see someone enjoying their job. Saw hundreds of Sandhill cranes! Displays in the visitor center well done.

Great quiet area with a few roads on the CA side and AZ side to get around easily. There is a pay camp area with restrooms, little grass park, and maybe showers. We decided to dry camp in a nice private area along the river. Not one car has driven down our dirt road all day. Tons of coyotes at night, temperatures are REALLY cold so bring proper gear if tent camping. Not much for firewood around unless resourceful. Would definitely stay again.

So we've had a house in Palo Verde (about 5 mins away) for over 20 years now and our family goes out as much as possible. They've actually just added some new rv and picnic benches right over on the Az side. The gas station in Palo Verde used to be called Wheelies before they got bought out after the old owner passed away, but they still have the same employees and they can tell you just about everything from Blythe to Glamis.
I think that it's this weekend.

I was just there a couple weeks ago before sunrise and the gate to the entire refuge was open.
I'm sure those would work great, krawdads as well.. I used a 3 inch swim bait with and under spinner caught allot of small mouth on it
Yes. Our Nature Trail along the waterfowl ponds have recently been upgraded and offer excellent bird viewing opportunities. There is also the adjacent BLM land with miles of trails to explore.
Cibola is open to public access, however the visitor center and public bathrooms are closed. Plenty of birds to see, along with large herds of mule deer and the occasional coyote.
