Our AC was blowing hot air on one of the biggest heat waves in September in San Diego. We have a dog with major medical issues and the heat could be deadly for him. My husband and I called many emergency AC repair businesses and fortunately for us we got from The owner of Hamel’s AC and he said he could come by first thing the next morning. True to his word he was here just after 7:00 am. He was professional, knowledgeable and incredibly gracious. He had our AC back working within 15 mins. The owner also educated us on how out of date our AC is and we will now have Hamels upgrade our AC system. Great small family business with incredible set of ethics and professionalism and we will continue to use Hamel’s AC. The owner Luke is amazing.

Yesterday I wrote a 1 star review for Hamel's A/C business in Lakeside. I believed that I had been taken advantage of - and presto I came across an email requesting a review (of Hamel's). I unloaded. As soon as I posted the review I realized I should have contacted the business and let them know what had offended me - and give them a chance to "make this customer happy". First thing this morning Mr. Hamel (owner) contacted me (via phone). We had a productive chat we both expressed our positions and arrived at a mutually acceptable solution. I will use Hamel's in the future.

I called Hamel's originally to perform a diagnostic on my leaky AC. I called first thing in the morning, and they had someone out that afternoon, who was actually the owner of the company. He was later than the original estimated window they gave me, but did call to let me know (and I understand jobs sometimes run longer than anticipated). He was professional and worked quickly. He was able to make a minor repair right then, and also made a few recommendations related to the issue (as well as a couple small thing he noticed while poking around in the attic). He took pictures to show what was wrong, and also where he made repairs. He answered several of our questions patiently and thoroughly, and I felt as though I was getting an honest answer which, as a woman, I really appreciate. A week later, I had them come out to do the recommended additional work and the guys were actually earlier than expected, and extremely careful in take measures to protect my floor and belongings (much appreciated!). They worked quickly and got the job done, again, taking pictures, and answering all my questions. You can tell these guys are truly knowledgeable. I was worried the pricing was a little high, but a friend who did HVAC in San Diego but moved recently, assured me the price was fair. The only thing that I would like to have seen be different is to have a more detailed/itemized invoice provided. Overall I was pleased with the level of service provided and would not hesitate to recommend Hamel's, or use them again in the future.
