Ever since I spotted the San Vicente reservoir on Google Maps I've been eager to drive out and see it. It exceeded my expectations. The water is remarkably clear. The visibility appears to be about 10'. It's a beautiful azure blue that makes shallow areas resemble tropical Caribbean waters. The boat ramp is the largest I've ever seen. Make sure your towing vehicle is ready for the task at hand. You need a permit to visit the reservoir which can be purchased either at the booth on the road leading in or at the reservoir itself. There are shaded picnic areas on the edge of the parking lot that were very clean and well maintained. I visited on an exceptionally hot day and appreciated having the shade to cool off and enjoy the view. If I didn't live so far away I would regularly come here to fish swim study and hang out.

San Vicente Reservoir is a beautiful place to boat, fish and swim. It’s expensive so be prepared but, you’ll catch some killer fish and have a great time. The ramp is steep and the water is low, it was sad. We need rain! Take a picnic and sit by the cement tables and enjoy the view, birds and sunny Southern California. We came during the week so it wasn’t as crowded. It was a much needed chillaxing day! Stop by!

I swim off of my inflatable boat to play by their rules. All the lakes in east county either prohibit swimming or only allow it off a boat. Not cool, there should be a designated swimming area for public use. Gd luck

There use to small beachs in the back, the lake was so full, in July There was tubing, skiing and boating. Then there was fishing. It was a wonderful day. Have fun!

Kinda. You have to be towning a tube at all times. Tbh San Diego bay is better for jet skis or look at El Capitan but they might have the same rule

They have bigger boats and pontoons aswell but still probably not the best for tubing. Also water contact is only 2 days of the week now as of Nov 1st
