I’ve had a very pleasant experience at service health since day one. The doctor and staff a very professional care and understanding. I’ve tried and helped me and allowed me to feel safe to be honest. I hope to continue seeing this doctor they except IEHP which I’m very grateful for. It’s hard to find a good doctor on Medi-Cal. If you’re looking for a good doctor to manage your pain you found the right place.

About a year ago, I started my journey as a patient in the Center of Excellence (COE) program at Savas Health (previously known as Desert Clinic Pain Institute). I had chronic pain throughout my body due to my crippling RA. I was unable to care for myself and living a life in consistent, at times unbearable, pain was my truth then. After my first few appointments, I could quickly see I was getting better. A year later I am happy to report that I am nowhere near in as much pain as I used to be. My "bad" days where I experience pain now don't even come close to even half of a "good" day for me a year ago. I've never been a fan of taking pain killers as I am in my early thirties, and the team at COE understood this, supported, and encouraged me on my journey to find pain relief without additional medications. I had the great pleasure of being treated by Reina (for massage therapy), David (for acupuncture), and Dr. Gonzalez (for chiropractic). All three were amazing to work with. They all listened to me and worked with me to help me in the best ways possible. Aracely also had a lot to do with my wonderful experience. She is an exemplary Office Manager, truly. She kept everything running smoothly at the clinic. She also does a wonderful job at genuinly connecting with people and making sure they are satisfied with their treatments. Aracely has a great personality and amazing work ethic. I've recommended my sister to Savas, and she too has had a great experience herself. I never get tired of recommending Savas to people experiencing pain, it changed my life.

I consider myself lucky, as a chronic pain sufferer, to have found this group of professionals. I have been able to take advantage of multiple modalities to help my pain. Doing something is always better than just taking meds and never quite feeling any relief. The staff in the Center of Excellence have been pleasant, competent and have made me feel important, simply by remembering my name. The team has gone the extra mile for me and accommodated my schedule and needs, and are always willing to take a little extra time with me when I needed it. If you are.lucky enough to qualify being treated at the Center, lean in, say yes to everything they have to.offer. I am apprehensive for the day I will need to be referred out for services...I wish I could continue indefinitely with the pros who've gotten to know me, my body, my.pain. I've been injured since 1994 and I can honestly say that I've never felt so important, respected and cared for. The whole team takes documenting your progress seriously...my chart is reviewed before I see any team member, and old issues are revisited and monitored. I would refer anyone to this office, based upon my good fortune! But none of this would be possible without the exceptionally diligent reception staff, who keep track of all your scheduling, med refills and special needs. I feel compassion each time I'm in the office. And chronic pain requires compassion and flexibility...I hope my experience is the same for everyone reading this. Again, I feel so.lucky to have found this place and these wonderful people!

Seems like just a scam to bill insurance companies for "Tele Health Visits" but never keeping actual physical appointments. Literally, it took me five months to get a second appointment to see the doctor for a follow up and second nerve block shot. Seems like it should be pretty simple. Sadly not. 30+ phone calls over MONTHS to finally get a returned call (most voicemail boxes are full and they don't really care). Hostile receptionists complaining to you that they are busy and you need to call some other number -- which is just another recording telling you the voicemail box is full. Lying "medical assistants" who I'm not even sure have any credentials, I've never met one, but I did meet the "assistants assistant" who didn't even bother to find out anything about my case or meds before coming in to "inform me" on how many more "Tele Health Visits" I would have to have to get a refill on a non-narcotic med that literally any family practice doctor can prescribe for you. And yes, that is how I get my refills -- through my family practice doctor -- because this office doesn't really care if you run out of meds. They don't care if you are in pain. They don't care if they make an appointment and don't keep it. The JUST DON'T CARE. By the way, each "Tele Health" phone call, offering ZERO help or service or anything related to medical care is a billable "Tele Health" visit. And they don't even keep those! Also: You can't call them at your appointment time because THEIR VOICEMAIL BOX IS FULL. I've never been so insulted and frustrated dealing with a doctor's office. THEY ARE THE WORST. No wonder they recently changed their name.

I think it's because they are so very short staffed right now with covid-19 everywhere.. but if you need to talk to them Mon - Frid call the 1315 number and go to the operator dial zero when it gives you an option and then tell whoever answer's what your issue is .. it's the only way I been able to really get ahold with questions...
Contact Desert Pain Clinic and if she has the time have her ask about the Center of Excellence. Fantastic program offered by them and IEHP.
