I am absolutely happy with the services provided at ELC Broward! My family specialist Fabrice was so kind and quick at handling my particular case. I am a single mom, head of household, student, and worker. I had no idea how I was going to continue doing all of this without some help. Luckily, ELC was there to support me. Thank you so much.

My counselor Candice has been so helpful since day one, she has had a great impact on my experience with Broward ELC, all the staff that I have been talking to since I moved to Broward county have been nice, have explained everything to me, cant complain, great team !!

ELC Broward has to be the worst when it comes to help for childcare all this funding they received from the pandemic and they are just not helpful at all. They hire just about anybody, they ask for all the required documentation just to waste your time! Like just stick to working 3 jobs and suffering because they will not help you. These people are the reason women with postpartum depression kill themselves when they have no help. You want people to get off food stamps, cash assistance but can’t offer child care so women can work to feed their kids. Broward county ELC is the only county who will see you suffer

I Think that Fabrice Cesar was a 1 in a lifetime experience. I seriously don't think during this whole 5 month experience the waiting, the missed phone calls, wrong paperwork being sent, & uneasy nights would have been worth it without her, she literally was my guide my eyes and a real care provider!. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. I was so confused and completely lost because this is all new to me and she took me by the hand and helped me in 2 weeks something that no one could of done for me in the 5 months I've been waiting to get approved. I truly appreciate her and my kids will forever appreciate her not only her kindness, patience and understanding but her strong will to get different schools on the phone HERSELF call me and stay with me researching until 7 pm at night some days to help my autistic son alongside my other 2 minions. We will never forget her to Fabrice Cesar THANK YOU!

Many preschools in FL promote "Free VPK" in their marketing and advertising. It is important for parents to educate themselves on the states VPK voucher system so they understand what free VPK really means. Preschools themselves are not offering free VPK tuition. In reality you the parent need to get a VPK voucher from your local Early Learning Coalition. That voucher means the State of Florida is going to pay for 540 hours of VPK education for your child over the course of the year. Every preschool structures there VPK programs differently. Some offer 3 hours a day for 180 days or the length of the elementary school year. Some schools run a summer program where are the children go for free 6 hours a day for 90 days. So, with that background in mind. In your situation the issue is that your VPK voucher is only covering your child's tuition until 1: 30 p.m. You must pay tuition for any extra hours. Who else is paying his teacher to be there?

Hi Patricia! The ELC reimburses providers at a full-time rate during the summer break. Parents are responsible for paying full-time fees during the summer. This includes any fees associated with summer programming and field trips. If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call at 954-377-2188.
The quick answer is, possibly. Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to point you toward job training, which would include child care. Or, there may be other circumstances that could qualify you. Even if it turns out we can't help you access a child care subsidy, we may still be able to help you. If you have a child care question, please call our main number, and please opt to speak to someone about child care choices. I hope this helps!
Yes!
call the office.
Go online and read up on the program is the best answer because Daycare’s don’t always tell you everything. The moment the Florida resident child is 4 they can be apart of VPK. Apply online. Don’t wait for the certificate the load, go to your local coalition office and get it right away. Don’t waste a minute. You can save a lot of money and if you don’t apply then daycares will continue to charge full tuition. It’s a voluntary program which is their loophole. Google: vpk Florida and a portal link will be available. Create a quick account and attach documents. Also, when you go to the office, get there early. Good luck!
call your local Early Learning Coalition office, they will help you. google Early Coalition for your county.
