Super clean room & quiet. Employees are incredibly nice & accommodating. Best ADA room we've ever stayed in. Only draw back is the side entrances don't have a handicap button to auto open the door, so you have to have someone open & hold them for you.

Very dog friendly, great staff, reliable utilities, safe, parking available. Good rooms. Pet rooms are best I’ve stayed in. Kitchenette, full bathroom and comfy beds!

Great place to stay, especially if you’re on a budget! We stayed in a room with 2 queen size beds and a kitchenette. Their kitchenette has everything you need to cook. Hard wood floors. Comfortable beds. Good space. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast included. Conveniently located across from the NEX & Commissary. Definitely recommended when in San Diego!

This place is pretty great overall but the water temperature issues remain after a week now. Some days the water is body temperature, some days it’s just cold, other days it’s scalding hot even when it’s set to cold. I’d like to give five stars but this is a major quality of life issue. Showers are not optional and struggling to complete one comfortably should be an avoidable issue. Comfortable beds and chairs with reasonably sized desk area, and a large walk in shower here. Mini NEX type shop in the lobby with a decent selection and NEX pricing. The place feels fairly recently refurbished and the staff is very friendly.

I'd check with the Navy Lodge and their 800 number help desk.
Commissary is near main gate about 1.9 miles from the navy lodge
I was coming to visit my son that's at the Navy base how do I go about getting info about this Lodge and the price?
Thank you. Looks like I get to cross something else off my bucket list. :)
Some rooms have them, others don't. Make sure you ask when booking.
I am currently paying $85 a night
Retirees are eligible, but in San Diego, retirees on leisure are limited to a week in advance
It was $90 per night space A.
Military personnel and their immediate families I believe.
You have to have a Military ID to check in.
No
The Lodge issues out parking passes to its guests which are serialized and have expiration dates. It states that "vehicles not displaying this pass will be towed at owners expense".
On base. Yes, you need to show your ID to get on.
There's a pool across the street on Dry Side that's easily accessible
Yes so long as thr is space due to military orders taking priority
20 minutes is a good estimate, but traffic delays can dramatically increase the time to an hour or more.
Yes!....the roof top is rented only 1/2 of it for small events as retirement ceremonies and family reunions and for food needs to be rent with MWR banquets only
My son and I have stayed there, so I texted him to ask since he's in the Navy. He's stationed in Okinawa now, but he said he doesn't know if they accept small dogs, to give them a call.
Yes, the Navy Lodge is pet friendly but you need to tell them before hand. They will bill you extra if you don't tell them!
Very secured and reasonable. Like staying home ..kitchens in. Each room. Nice.
There is a fishing pier not to far from the hotel. It's on base. You will have to go around the base though. Too far to walk.
Well you can try calling immediately after 6 pm, I was told they hold a certain amount of rooms until after 6pm for some reason. Also, the naval lodge isn't exactly for leisure guest. It is to accommodate those who are pcsing in/out San diego and those on TAD orders. Seeing as there are lots of military members stationed here, chances are they will book up fast. There are usually not many available rooms to rent out for the leisure guest, and even those are usually rented out by the members in the barracks who want to get out of their rooms for a while. If you are here for PCS or TAD, go to the hotel and get a letter of non-availability, which will enable you to get reimbursed for a hotel somewhere off base.
To correct someone's post that mentions a ferry to Balboa Park... There is no ferry to Balboa Park. The ferry goes from Coronado Ferry Landing to Seaport Village in Downtown San Diego. From there you can walk around Seaport, SD harbor and the gaslamp area. That said, you can Uber pretty much anywhere in that vicinity inexpensively. Including Balboa Park and Old Town State Park. Carlsbad flower fields are a good 40 min away from that base. Coronado Island itself is one of the prettiest areas in SD. So many beaches too. Ocean, Pacific, Mission, La Jolla, Del Mar, Encinitas beaches...
No there is only one car service that can get ON POST from the airport. You can get their info from Navy Lodge directly
Unfortunately, yes! But I would assume that the lodge has improved a great deal in reducing the noise, perhaps during the recent renovations. My recent stay, as of a month and a half ago, proved that the trolley sound, along with the various sounds from the nearby shipyard, is virtually gone. So, if I were a new customer, I wouldn't be highly concerned. Give it a try...it might be a lovely stay.
