Great location. clean rooms TERRIBLE front desk staff. (one lady is doing the work for the other guy and her own job) Luis has a serious dislike of me! Not a good impression.

Love staying here. Shhh… honestly why go anywhere else. The RV park area is quiet and people tend to be friendly and mindful of others. Come for the day or stay for the week, you can’t go wrong.

We scheduled the East cottage 6 months in advance as per their policy to show up yesterday to be told that our reservation was canceled. I called on Monday to confirm our reservation and I was told our reservations were confirmed for March 18 for 3 nights. I showed them our reservation and told them I did not receive any notification that our reservations were canceled. Our reservation was given to another patron. The front desk did contact the guests that were staying in the cottage and they were scheduled to be relocated to the family suites today. We were guaranteed the East Collage for today for 2 nights. Check out time came around and these guests decided that they weren't checking out because it was too much of an inconvenience. So the front desk decided that it was just best to cancel our reservation for a second time. Once again we weren't valued as customers. After this second frustrating interaction we packed up and drove home. We planned this weekend with friends six months out to just be ruined.

WARNING, only open to military and DOD employees. Wonderful place. We so appreciate the military providing these places. Good price for ocean front campsites. Outdoor rentals with bikes, kayaks, and other gear on site too. Kid friendly with movies projected on two stories wall with PA sound on Friday night. Full hookups except one area, they said an underground pipe broke. They said they don't usually take reservations for that area but I asked for an ocean front site and they let me stay there. The RV dump station is over a mile away so they said ok to dump my wastewater tote at a vacant site. Campground busy on weekends but quiet during the week. I needed a power adapter because the 50 Amp sites are 50 Amp only. The hookups look weathered from the ocean. Paved campsites, I needed a couple of inches of blocks to level. Big clean bathroom. Ice machine broken, closest ice at NEX also about a mile away. There are a few sites far out on the point but the road is broken up very badly. Large tent camping area currently closed for seal mating season. We will be back next year.

It is open to ALL active and retired military of any branch. Call ahead.
Yes, call 'em and tell 'em when you want your reservations.
Yes 👍🏾
Yes, when I went last Summer we were not prepared for the mosquitoes. Bring repellent! Other than that, it was beautiful!
NO. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you must have a valid military ID card with MWR listed as a privilege. If you are rated by the VA as 100% service-connected disabled you can request a letter from the VA so you can get an ID card. Then you will be entitled to use the commissary, exchange, gas station and MWR facilities like the gym, movie theatre, Navy Lodges, etc. Good luck.
Use often, always by reserving via telephone and always, ALWAYS no problems. You can reserve up to 30 days in advance without travel orders, over 30 IF you have orders. The rooms have been remodeled and they're poorly laid out, ie. cramped with a bed too big for the room, few outlets, etc. BUT... The beach is just steps away and that makes it all worth it. Check in is not in the inn now, it's in the new rental building to the left of the inn. Rent a SUP, fishing poles or a surfboard and have fun. Recommend! Update: Thou can go online and get reservations made or get the top-free number to make a reservation through the central system. Or...BEST BET... Contact the facility directly. Lookup the base directory online and contact the front desk. I usually contact the facility online because there always seems to be a person(s) manning the desk.
Just have your veterans card and you are good to go.
You would need a current DoD ID card to gain access to the base facilities. As far as being admitted to use the campground, I think that depends on what you were able to get on your gov issued contractor ID. Might be best to contact MWR (Navy equivalent of AF Famcamp) directly to find the details that I'm unable to provide. Best of luck, happy camping!
Rv park is 50.00 to 55.00 a night
No, this month I haven't seen many mosquitoes just a few at dusk.
I've been stationed here off & on since 1996. I've never had a mosquito problem
As long u have to badge but if you dont have one then ur son have to be with u to get in ..
You're probably not supposed to take it on base.
Only for active duty and retired military and Department of Defense Civilians. 100% disabled Veterans also. Soldiers and Sailors cannot afford to golf at Pebble Beach and other recreational facilities may not be locally available so military bases have their own recreational facilities. They cost the taxpayers nothing because they are funded with user fees and profits from the stores on base, the BX or PX. They are not open to the public. If they were open to the public then Soldiers and Sailors wouldn't have as much access to them.
There are restrooms in the recreation office and in the adjacent Motel.
In the past my family and I have camped there in the RV area with a converted van. We also pitched a tent and screen awning. Personally, we've never had a problem with mosquitoes, bees or flies. Perhaps our camp fire and tiki torches, with citronella fuel, contributed to being pest free.
Yes, but it must be under the service member name and the service member must be there at check in.
Anyone with a military ID card that has MWR listed in the privileges. Because I am 100% Service-connected disabled, I have an ID card, sponsored by the VA, with MWR privileges and I've often stayed at the lodge and campground.
