I had a consultation at the end of June with a stylist. They were a little late to call but it seemed like the salon was busy so it was understandable. After they explained everything and I asked the cost, I was told that all appointment would be schedule by me except for the loc installation. She told me I'd be the last head of the day and the salon would schedule the appointment. I never heard back. No appointment. No calls. No email except for one saying their D.C. location had changed. I was looking forward to the locs and willing to pay the $350+ for them, but I can't do that if an appointment is never scheduled.

Literally, the worst type of ownership you could ever come in contact with - definitely do not recommend this business due to the owner feeling as if he can talk to long time clientele without any type of filter or respect! It’s also worth mentioning that any type of feedback or even a general question about how much is due is presented as being “anti-black” with the attitude to match! For transparency, I scheduled a VIP appointment with Salih, which is an extra $100 🤭, but was unfortunately running about 30min behind schedule and reached out before the scheduled appointment time that I’d be about 15min behind due to traffic. He said, “ok, cool,” but ironically, just as i arrived, he texted me “we need to reschedule,” even though he was sitting in the chair getting his haircut at the time! I find it hard to believe that the extra 15min was worth canceling a 2hr appointment, but to each their own. I guess it’s nothing but principle to him at this point. Furthermore, it’s interesting that he had a 5:30pm VIP appointment listed when I originally booked, but since he was talking to me at 5:30pm getting a haircut, obviously no one scheduled that time slot in the end - so it would’ve been easier to just say he didn’t feel like doing my hair when I reached out to let him know I was in route and called a spade a spade - which would’ve saved us both the added inconvenience. Now, the funny thing is I’ve been coming here for years and have found that even when you’re on time, there is usually a 10min wait before you’re even ushered into the wash area. I also LOVE how the owner was so up in arms about the value of his time, but I’ve literally sat in his chair with wet hair while this man has taken a lunch break…during my scheduled appointment time! I’ve also on a different occasion sat in his chair, once again with dripping wet hair, while he’s taken walk-in consultations. Talk about being a hypocrite, right?! To wrap it up, this is one place I don’t mind forfeiting a deposit just to never have to darken their doorstep with my presence ever again - which, I’m sure from the owner’s tone and overall attitude, won’t be missed because he obviously doesn’t care about burning bridges and neither do I 🤷🏾♂️

I had an appointment on the 27th of October and was denied service because I had a service animal. I am a disable veteran. They do not cater to anyone with a disability. I was told even if it was a blind seeing eye dog I would still be denied service because it will never just be me and a stylist alone. I wish they would have been more accommodating but they did offer me to reschedule even though i explained to the young lady even if I reschedule the animal will still be with me. Then she finally offered me a refund. I was really looking forward to trying this salon after hearing great reviews from friends.

I can tell that this business is someone’s baby because of the attention to detail from the color schemes to the smells to the music…. All vibes. It was aesthetically on point and the service matched that energy. I’m talking knowledgeable, attentive, punctual, all of that. Shari came through with the whole spa experience for the washing and Nathan with the speed on the retwist. We need more businesses like this one. I’m definitely going to be a returning customer
