I want to express my gratitude for the 5-star service that this team provided me! Initially, I went to a different smog location because of the coupon offered. This other location was offering a discount. It wasn’t much but every little help and it feels good to get a deal. However, this other location listed “Apple Pay” as a method of payment but upon arrival it did not! So I called The Smog King! I asked if there was walk-in and if price matching was an option. They said “ABSOLUTELY”. I showed them the offer and they took in my car to smog INSTANTLY and had the convenience of APPLE PAY! The service was lightning fast, the staff was more than welcoming and friendly and they gave me a deal with no interruptions! What a TEAM!

Either they lied to me or are just plain inept. Either way never go near them with your older vehicle. I brought my 87 landcruiser to these guys to get smogged, it failed on the low idle, which is true. But they also said it failed the visual inspection said my egr did not work my catalytic converter wasnt CA legal, ignition timing and fuel cap failed. after taking it to a well known and respected landcruiser shop in the bay area, he tested my egr it works perfectly nothing wrong so they either had no idea what the egr looks like on a landcruiser and just picked something and it did not pass that test or didnt do the test at all. He inspected my catalytic converter and found a carb approved number stamped on it, they must have not put the effort into looking for that since it has a skid plate under where the catalytic converter is, took the mechanic two minutes with 4 bolts to remove and a flash light to find that carb number. Granted fuel cap function failed but was a very simple fix, But what really got me believing this place is inept or just lying to me was the ignition timing test, my landcruiser mechanic showed me that bolt a smog inspection station would have to remove in order to check timing on the vehicle had not been moved in years and under some dirty caked on engine grime, so the just lied or didnt know what they were doing at all here too. Knowing my landcruiser mechanic and the reputation he has within the landcruiser community he could have easily said yes all of these things need to be fixed and could have sold me parts i didnt need and shop work it didnt meed. But he showed me they work, was 100% honest what it actually needed and got those issues taken care of. It did need some repairs for low idle hydro carbons and the exhaust leak from the old muffler but that is it according to my landcruiser mechanic and those issues were taken care of. I felt ripped off by this smog inspection place. Dont waste your money and time here.

Ush the owner handling the paperwork and performing the Smog Check made it easy and I was in and out in twenty minutes. I will come again with my other car !!!
