My son George (age 12) just loves it here! At Walt Whitman! We stayed in a more local camp last year (Covid and last minute with one of his best friends) in sleepaway. This was a compromise as George went with a best friend new to sleepaway who needed a last minute spot. George got back and said never again I have to go back to Walt Whitman - nothing compares! I called Jed and Carolyn right away and explained George’s desire! He and the bestie are now going to Walt Whitman for this summer and are super excited! Just great people, great sports, great friends, great counsler a, great food, perfect accommodations a! Just everything is 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And beyond! The level of service is just beyond compare! Love love love! Jed, Carolyn, Stephanie, Matt and all of the counselors are just the best!!!

This is an exceptional camp. I had the privilege to work as a Waterfront Instructor and to see, first-hand, the love and care the Dorfman family has put into creating a one-of-a-kind camping experience. Something that first struck me, was the staff level of expertise; whether it is traversing, water skiing, gymnastics, or art across-the-board CWW recruits counselors who are talented (not only in their respective fields, but also working with children). I was also impressed with the level of training and support CWW provides to make sure staff is fully equipped to be the best counselors possible. I had the opportunity to work with the oldest bunk and it was amazing to see the life-long bonds they built over the years of being CWW campers. I was also struck by how being a part of the CWW community helped instill a sense of confidence and independence in each camper. This camp finds a way to meet kids where they are, providing a safe environment for them to try new things, explore their interests and test their limits. It was special to see how each camper grew throughout the summer, mastering skills and making connections. Being a counselor one summer at CWW was a most wonderful experience and something I look fondly upon 13 years later. I made dear friends I am still close with today and others I've lost touch with but think about often. My goal in life is to send my kids here!

Camp Walt Whitman started off as a summer employment opportunity that I came across when I was in college and has developed into a major part of my life. Not only was the experience of working at Walt Whitman one that I will always remember but it has given me friends and family that I couldn't imagine my life without. It is one of those places that is hard to explain when looking at it from the outside, but requires no explanation once you're there! I highly recommend this incredible opportunity to anyone of any age!

I can describe Camp Walt Whitman in one word: Magic. I worked at camp for 3 years. During my time at CWW I found my teaching voice and had a chance to share my passion for woodworking with kids from all different backgrounds, ages, and experiences. Camp challenged me to design better projects and introduce new skill sets to my campers, counselors and assistants. Camp allowed me to be me. When classes were over I did not hesitate to join on whatever was going on, Evening activities, staff events and even the Olympics. Camp brings out the best in everyone, without it I don’t think that I would have ever saw that in myself. The thought of every summer always starts with “can I make it back to CWW this year?” on any given day I would trade my classroom and tie, for the woodshop and my overalls.

Answer is on their website!!

Are staff members paid by the month ...as posted in the website or for the whole summer? Does the reality of the quality of the camp facilities match past brochures or are current conditions not as advertised?

And why are professional staff told that amount posted on the website is total for the summer...not for the month?
