Amazing selection of books, posters, records and more. The drinks tasted wonderful. Favorite record store in Tampa.

Bookstore has a fun vibe, a café inside, and a large selection of books. I originally came in to look for used Spanish textbooks and workbooks with audio CDs. I didn't find any, but they did have a Spanish translation of a novel from one of my favorite authors (Yukio Mishima) so I picked that up as a future reading goal. Since I used to live in Japan and know Japanese, I also picked up a few novels in Japanese to help maintain my level. Thank you for the nice selection of books!

Today was my third time visiting Mojo and will probably be my last. I went in an ordered a coffee right away and the barista was very friendly. I shopped around the cafe area for the next ten minutes while I waited. I understand that the cafe operates as a cashier as well and noticed her checking lots of people out while I waited. It takes less than 3 minutes to make a latte, so I didn’t really understand why she couldn’t finish my drink before attending other customers. After waiting for quite awhile, I went to the counter and asked if she was still working on it. She said, “Oh, I forgot…” and asked me again what I ordered. Within three minutes I had my drink in hand. Sadly, it was sloppily made and FULL of coffee grounds. Doesn’t exactly make for a tasty drink. My other major problem with this visit, was the off-leash service dog who as wandering aimlessly around the store mingling with customers. As a service dog trainer myself, I understand that service dogs legally are allowed to task off leash and do so in some instances. However, I find it alarming that this dog, though vested, was clearly not tasking while it sniffed my shoes, greeted my friend, and wandered up and down the aisle visiting other people. I’m not even sure whose dog it was, I never saw anyone call the dog back to them. Fortunately, no customers in the store seemed to be at all fearful of the dog; I could imagine a large hairy mutt appearing in an aisle would be jarring to someone who is afraid of dogs. According to the ADA, “The service animal must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered while in public places unless these devices interfere with the service animal's work or the person's disability prevents use of these devices. In that case, the person must use voice, signal, or other effective means to maintain control of the animal…. [The handler] may not allow the dog to wander away from her and must maintain control of the dog, even if it is retrieving an item at a distance from her.” My third issue is due to the overall unkept and unsafe nature of the store. It is very dirty and neglected. The doormats were curling upwards at the edges from being overused, which is a huge tripping hazard and liability. For the high prices of the used and new books alike, you’d think they could afford more help to keep the store in a good way. Overall, I was disappointed by my visit, and I don’t think I’ll come back

The coffee here is EXCELLENT! Many flavors and alternative milk options here! Staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable, welcoming and not at all pretentious. Nice selection of books, DVDs, records, cassettes and unique items.

They have lots of thing you will be blown away.they had a poster from the silent film metrópolis.they even have old 45 records.
Hi, thanks for asking! Yes, we do buy books. Also vinyl records and some cds, dvds, and cassettes. Payouts vary based on condition and resale value. If you go to our website, we give more detail. Payouts for an "average" book range from $.50-$2.00, but it can be significantly more for rare and desirable printings, current textbooks, etc. Conversely, if it will need to go out on the budget cart, the payout will be less.
They do, but they may not buy specifically what you bring. You can call first and see if they want it.
I believe 18
Good ones, and books and games and such. They turn down things that are just not of value.
They carried a variety of spiritual books.since it's new and used, mostly used its whatever they have. Go see. It's a fantastic place with e great people staffing it.
If there is a small section of books in different languages
They do buy books. They also take donations. They cut off buying books about an hour before closing time and I would recommend calling ahead if you got a bunch of stuff or something you feel is really valuable. It may save you the trip if they are unable to handle the volume or value of something at any given time. They also do consignments of less common items.
I am not sure. I think I saw DVDs.
Cassettes no
They have a huge book section. But I don't know if they have law books. I would suggest calling them.
Yes they have some children's books as well as books for young adults and teens
Not sure if they do they have a nice selection of records books and more
There are masks for sale and hand sanitizer available as soon as you walk in. There's also a sign asking you to sanitize your hands before touching anything and masks are required. All staff wear masks. I was there recently during a weekday and it wasn't busy, but the few customers that were there were masked and distanced.
There price pretty decent .
No
No. Have never seen any of those there.
They have gift certificates.
It is kids friendly. They don't have a huge kid section but depending how precocious your children are, they will enjoy a whole variety of books. The staff are also very knowledgeable and can direct your young people to the appropriate sections based on their interests. I'd recommend stopping in
Keep looking, there are several record shops-- you're not authentic unless you visit... the jazz you buy will sound better after the search. Go visit and save your questions to after you've purchased some coffee and supported their locally owned store.
Probably some 1st edition, But to be specific like that you'd have to go in and look around. It's a big store with used books and records and some stereo equipment... And good coffee.
Yes they do they have an awesome collection of books for every one
I cant remember the hours but they are open longer then 6 o'clock
As to interest, it's faster to call the store than to post here. As to possible value, you'll have to take it in to the store to be appraised.
Used books, movies, and music items.I am pretty sure.
You would have to ask them, but if they don't you can try Coliseum of Comics in New Tampa. (Coliseum is not gone. It's on Bruce B towards Wesley Chapel)
Make sure that you look before they order it. I started to order two LP's before they were found, because they were not in the proper order. But they are really great when it comes to finding items that are sometimes difficult to find.
Go to Mojo's in Tampa near University Mall
Huh?
Call them. Don't know
Yes
It will really depend on the book's condition and the availability of used copies. You will need to bring your copy into the store. You can also do online research beforehand -- just save or bookmark your results. Good luck!
