I could spend hours just admiring this gorgeous historic building with original light fixtures & paintings going back to New Bedford's whaling days. Truly amazing building. The staff is friendly & very helpful. Copies are only 10cents per page & a fax is only $1 per page. Try paying that at an office supply store. I didnt need my library card, but to use a computer, one is required. I believe its still free. Their computers are ancient, but functional. I read somewhere they have a geology room & help is available with an appointment. This library is so beautiful the dated equipment takes nothing from it.

The library is closed today for the holiday but opens tomorrow 9am to 9pm.
There is not a drop box at this library but it does open tomorrow at 9am.

Possibly, there is a special collections department and genealogy help at the main library downtown. Try contacting them on Tuesday when they reopen.
