I went a very long time ago to have a picnic and fly a kite with my husband and son. Such beautiful scenery. Within the last few years I have gone to the beach. Nice quiet spot to spend the day.

Nice walking area along the coast. Lots of benches to sit at. Historical fort with old bunkers. Beautiful boardwalk. It smelled like poop half the time no matter where we walked, guessing it was the water plant next to the fort. Or whatever people threw away in the trash cans. Ice cream shop only open Saturdays & Sundays. Public bathroom near the boardwalk.
Swamp Yankee
Clean, well kept and not crowded. I visited during the week, but was still surprised that so few people were there. The beach was nice, the water was very calm and the ice cream tasty. People were fishing from the big dock. Good walk ways.

I caught sea robin, sand shark, black fish and mostly porgy but few months ago, there was a bunch of big fish chasing after schoolies.

Yes, most people fish off the southernmost pier, theres a few other spots that might work as well. CATCH AND RELEASE: Although cleaner than it used to be, theres still an unhealthy level of PCB contamination in the Acushnet River even this far down
There are onlu pictures in the library. That fort is old.
