I was blown away by this place! I've lived an hour away my entire life and have never even heard of this place. I could not have been happier with my visit. The animals all looked content in this zoo which is proven by the zoo's AZA verification. We meet a volunteer at the elephant area and she was a wealth of knowledge, incredibly friendly, and so passionate. You could tell she cared and I feel like that is a common theme throughout the zoo. Go! It's like ten bucks for a ticket and you won't regret it.

Nice little zoo, clean and easy to navigate, but hard to find in general as there was only one tiny little sign that a saw pointing in the direction of the zoo. Most animals were visible and active. Nice little zoo for kids. Big playground nearby and a carousel inside the zoo(but apparently you need to buy a token for it, it's not included with admission which I thought was a little strange) There's a nice little cafe with a great kid-friendly menu. All in all it was a nice place to stop on our way home to Connecticut from Cape Cod.

Very cute albeit small zoo. What's here is great but there's just not a lot to see. Easy way to spend an hour or two but not much more.

Had my son's 3rd birthday party which with pandemic it was it 1st official. This place was amazing... We have 5 birthdays in our immediate house hold in this week. We know the pressure of throwing a kids party. It was worry free Jordan was simply a phenomenal host and was beyond our expectations.. The lizard ambassador was great for our 3 year old. Gave a little extra after cake ice cream.. Then last walk thru our group all were raving how stress free relaxed fun experience here.. Everyone was extremely nice during stressful time with all the visitors multiple birthday party's. We left most up to the staff and we were not disappointed.. I did notice if visiting order food before your starving if it's busy staff makes it all fresh so give them the time needed there working hard I've seen it myself. Overall Outstanding job we are extremely grateful. Even older kids had fun.. So outdoor birthday party you can spend with family and not worry about things don't matter.. Book it....thank me later...

I work with Ruth when she before she came to the zoo and she is a beautiful elephant.
Olive and Sweetpea are yellow footed. Dotting is a red footed tortoise
No... this place is a waste of your money... truth
For New Bedford residents, it's $7.50 adult/$4.50 children. For others it's $10/$6.
No they do not do pony, but look up ed rose on Facebook he does pony parties with pony rides he is from Rochester
It's likely 18 as most places but I'd call to make sure
Yes it does! Always wondered how it got its name. There is a nice carved bear that displays the Oliver Circle name.
Don't know what they are.
The have limited amounts of wheelchairs for people in need a first come first serve basis.
You're best bet is to call to find out.
Yes. There are eateries within the park itself but it is expensive and is not a restaurant. There are plenty of better (and less expensive) food options locally. Most zoos are the same.
New Bedford Resident Admission (Must show proof of New Bedford Residency) Adult: $7.50 Senior/Student: $6 Child (Ages 3-12): $4.50 Child Under Age 3: FREE Non-Resident Admission Adult: $10 Senior/Student: $8 Child (Ages 3-12): $6 Child Under Age 3: FREE
I think they only have emergency ambulatory transport.
Not sure but not very expensive compared to other zoo's. Also very little kids friendly
I don't think so, assuming you meant scooters. It isn't a super huge place so walking isn't bad if you are able. I didn't bring a stroller for my 2 year old he walked the whole place. I wouldn't attempt that at a larger zoo.
Identification is required to prevent fraudulent use of the passes.
According to the calendar on their website, yes until 5 pm.
No. Only large animals they have are bears and elephants; its not a huge zoo.
Adults are $10. Seniors and Students are $8. Kids 3-12 are $6. There's a New Bedford resident discount, changing the prices to $7.50, $6, and $4.50 respectively.
It's both, there's a really nice playground for kids of all ages plus basketball courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields and more. The park is open until dusk. The zoo is the only part you pay for and the part that closes early. Hawthorne st is the entrance for the zoo parking lot. I hope that helps
They sadly dont have sloths julia but they just got monkeys in but they are not for touching since they are in another room and you can watch them through the glass... But they do have a sea animal interaction tank thats great for kids filled with starfish sea urchins crabs snails alot of safe cute animals
Yes
It's always the same price for kids - $4.50 for New Bedford residents and $6.00 for non-residents - ages 3-12.
Go online for the Buttonwood Zoo and check the list of Administrators and people on staff and contact them that way
Unless this is something they added over the winter, there are no such rides here. The previous answer of the Boston public gardens does have swan boats.

They are open from 9am to 5pm
