Last night my dog was pawing at his ears and crying, so I took him to this clinic to check his ears to see if his ear infection was still there or if it had spread to the other ear. He has also had an ongoing skin concern, so I wanted to know if the (yeast) ear infection could also affect his skin. The techs and receptionist were very nice. My dog was taken from me for about 4 minutes and brought right back. An emergency pet had arrived and needed immediate care. So they needed to take that pet first. Which I completely understood. The tech said that the doctor had looked at the skin and put him on an antibiotic because it was infected. I asked about the ears, and the tech said that the doctor did not have time to examine them or do the full exam because of the other pet. I said I would like to wait because I really came about the ears. The tech said it could be hours because the vet needed to care for the other pet. Also, the tech said the doctor could not look in my dog's ears without charging me for a cytology test because if the vet looks in the ears, she has to do the expensive cytology testing. The tech also said that I would be charged for a short visit because the doctor didn’t get to do an exam on my dog. Then she came back and said the front desk wouldn’t allow that, and even though the doctor did not get to do the exam, I still had to pay the $100 for the complete exam. So, in the end, I had to pay for the exam of $100 but was not given the exam. I just wanted my dog's ears checked. I understand the other pet was the priority, but I should have been allowed to wait for my dog's exam to be completed or not charged. I never spoke to or met the vet. In response to my Review, I was contacted by the office manager today. She said they are willing to give me $50 to take down my review and sign a document that they will email me.

I want to let people out there looking for a Emergency vet that this is the ONLY place I bring my dog(s). Hands down they care about our babies just as much as we do. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for last minute help and staff who care and will make sure they do all they can to help ensure your babies are taken care of!! The whole staff is amazing from the lovely lady who answered the phone & the receptionist at the front desk, to the doctor’s who did a cesarean on my fur baby… I hope they all know how much they make a difference in this world or at least in mine!!!! They saved my dog and I know they would do all they can to save yours too!! This is such a safe haven and don’t know what I’d do without them!!

We have taken both of our kitties here when it was time for them to go. One was a few years ago, the other on 5/22. They were so compassionate towards them and us. They gave us plenty of time and space to say goodbye. The "process" was so humane, pain free, and quick in a dimly lit room in the back to maximize privacy during a distressing time. They allowed us to hold on to them the entire time. Though we now have lost all of our cats, we will never forget the incredible and caring care St. Augustine Vet ER provided. Thank you so much

We could not ask for more caring or compassionate people to take care of our very sick cat last night. They had to keep Jake overnight and put him on an IV, pain medications and anti nausea pills. Jake is the most loving and gentle cat except last night when they had to sedate him to work on him. Jake! Dr Giusti is so great in explaining what they are going to do. When picking him up he went over everything again. Our cat would not have survived much longer. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very caring. He is now (hopefully) on the road to a full recovery. The Millers. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Questions & Answers

There is no doctor's notes on ChaCha 's medical records. Therefore, her claim of $311 with the insurance cannot be processed. Dr Fush examined ChaCha, and there is no diagnosis ! no treatment, no nothing. What did I pay for? Bad, very bad.

Mrs. Boutin, We apologize for any miscommunication between Dr. Fusch and yourself. However, from our understanding, ChaCha was examined by Dr. Fusch the day before with her private practice and you came in for radiographs and an ECG to follow up from that exam during Dr. Fusch's relief shift here at SARVEC. You were only charged for those services and no exam was preformed that day. We encourage you to reach out to Dr. Fusch regarding this matter and see if you two can come to a resolution.

Does anyone at your establishment pick up the phone? 6 calls consecutive, first one was hung up on and the other 5 go to voicemail.
