I've been going to this gym for over a year now, and have been going to gyms in general for 20+ years now, which is a pretty large sample size, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the PF in Freehold, NJ. This place is always kept super clean and I seldom have to wait for machines or weights that I want to use, which is perfect for me since I want to be in/out of the gym as quickly as possible. Also, the staff is always friendly and helpful. Case in point: The other day, realizing I'd left my gym towel in the massage chair overnight, I asked the front desk if it was, by chance, in the lost & found. The manager said she saw it there, but someone must've discarded it in between then and when I asked, and it was gone. Now, she could've done nothing (after all, it was totally my fault for forgetting my towel), but she went above-and-beyond and gave me a brand, new PF towel free of charge! I take care of people and businesses who deserve it, and Planet Fitness of Freehold fits that bill. Highly recommend!

Choose another gym or location. Terrible customer service at this location. I put my membership on hold due to covid- apparently the hold is only for three months and when the hold was up and they charged my account. I was initially told when I placed it on hold that I could call anytime to unfreeze it. When I called today they told me that they could not refund my money. I can deal with losing $25 if I overlooked some email that said that I would be billed but the worst of it was the way the person answering the phone and then the way the manager Kate handled it. I couldnt get a word in edgewise-they both constantly talked over me and dismissed my complaint- it was the way they handled it. As a small business owner myself I would have fired these two if they ever spoke to any of my clients this way. Corporate needs to provide more training to those two or dismiss them. The manager actually hung up on me and accused me of screaming at her which was not the case.. She was combative and extremely unprofessional. The Planet Fitness at Wall was a completely different story. They were super nice and listened to me. I almost cancelled my membership if it wasnt for the manager at the Wall location.

The equipment is ok. The rowing machines are never fixed. The display on one never works. The other display always clocks meters four times slower than in actuality. Pet peeve: People constantly cut you off on the 30-minute circuit. They treat the circuit machines like any other in the gym. 7/10 people don’t wipe the equipment after use. It’s worse than pre-Covid! It would be great if there was an orientation refresher/signs for those that lack gym etiquette.

We understand the convenience of a 24-hour facility, but our club may have implemented modified hours in order to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable gym for our PF family. Yes a dollar to sign up but there is some kind of yearly fee also, along with a monthly fee. Inquire about it.
