There are very few places to get tested for COVID-19, and I was initially delighted to find that Tonys pharmacy had tests available. I was initially surprised to find they had a sign that said masks optional, but I was double masked so I felt okay walking through the store. No one behind the register at the pharmacy was wearing a mask. Still, I reassured myself that I was double masked and therefore still protected. It got very uncomfortable when I realized that the man administering the rapid test to the person before me was not wearing any gloves or a mask. I asked if he was going to wear a mask before he gave me my test. He smiled and said no. So I said, "So you have not been wearing gloves or a mask while testing people for COVID-19?" and he said that was correct. I was asked for a refund and left the store immediately. I believe it's not only irresponsible, but dangerous, for an unmasked employee to administer tests to people who may or may not have a contagious disease. I am seriously considering filing a complaint with the NJ department of health because it's unethical and should not be legal.
