This place is great. I take ASL with Dr. Rick McClain and not only have I learned to communicate with deaf people but it's opened my eyes to the culture.

I went for the first time last Thursday and it was Great!! Very friendly and very understanding!!!! I will be turning 19 later this week; I was born half-deaf; I have no work history; I learned how to read lips a bit since I was a child but I don't know sign language -- I have always wanted to learn, and Now I can for FREE!! (deaf/hard of hearing clients can take classes for free but family members have to pay per session: sessions are divided into 5 classes or 5 weeks family members get 1/2 off; so instead of $75, they get $40/each/every 5 weeks.) 1st session is "Beginner's." I also received a free "altered volume telephone....?" In other words, it can make calls more louder or more understanding. Although it's not what I wanted/needed, (I'm too sensitive to noise; but phone allows volume to be adjustable), it was still helpful, and everything was explanable and fixed to help my needs. The caption-based phone though, needs a high internet connection and the big one(seen in their office), needs both a high internet connection AND a landline. There are brochures, and more information at their office(feel free to ask questions as they are answered happily!!!!) (PS: We decided to go in the afternoon as it's easier for me, (I'm a night-owl), and tried to avoid LunchTime at around 11am or 12pm. We arrived at around 1pm more or less and they were Just About to have Lunch; I was still given their full attention though)
