Just want to remind everyone who shops at their stores. The items that "custom made" like the dining chairs are not refundable but the shipping date is also estimated. I placed the dining chairs in store in August 2021 and it was said to be delivered in December 2021. It has been delayed since. West Elm keeps telling me refund is an option but I still have not received my refund. They still keep "following up" my order.

My wife and I ordered a bedroom set in July. We got each item separately between September and December (today, the 18th). The kids who delivered our bed headboard made minimal effort to get it upstairs to our bedroom, explaining that they couldn’t get it up and around our steps. We already have the king mattress up their, which is comparable, if not larger dimensions compared to the headboard. They called their dispatcher and we immediate got a call from someone at West Elm who told us that they have to return the item. I was informed that if we were to pick a new item, it could take several weeks to months to arrive . Then we were on hold with customer service for an hour to get our refund initiated — “due to high call volume.” Update (12/22): Our refund posted $600 short. Customer service declined to help, saying “there’s nothing I can do.” I know the kids who delivered the headboard don’t work for West Elm, but that they are contracted out. They made minimal effort, and called it quits. West Elm should survey experiences with their customers concerning their contractors. It’s unlikely that we’ll purchase again from West Elm, given the untimely servicing and terrible delivery experience. Reliability is a top reason to keep customers, and when you are unreliable, you ultimately lose them.
