Having been confirmed and my sacraments through the Catholic Church; this like many organizations hold tight corrupt individuals within their communities. The Diocese of St. Petersburg has Edward LaRose, Ronald Ficarrotta, Rex Barbas, Frances Martinez, Denise Pomponio, Melissa Polo, Martha Cook and Thomas Palermo to name a few public servants that break the 10 commandments everyday. They are representative of money, politics and greed gone wrong and shielded by this organization. I am ashamed that a religious organization with a backbone of morals and ethics takes and gives public support to these sinners and criminals. They gloat their prestigious catholic upbringings to mask their true character. It would be something if this organization upheld it's own moral obligations to their God but money usually supersedes.

Rude. Rude. Rude. Spoke with someone from the clergy and he was very rude. I was just asking a question in a nice way. He was rude and hung up on me.

Yes
Presumably you are asking whether people who are hospitalized are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. f that is the case, then the answer is yes. No one can be held to the impossible, nor does the Church place unreasonable burdens upon its members.
Thank you for asking. The Feast of the Holy Family is usually celebrated on the Sunday after Christmas, unless Christmas falls on a Sunday, which is the case in 2022. So, for this year, the Feast of the Holy Family will be observed on December 30, 2022. In 2023, it will be back on Sunday and will be observed on December 31, 2023.
Thank you for asking. Currently, there is not a Catholic senior living complex in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
Hello Dominic thank you for asking. In addition to Sunday, the days to be observed as holy days of obligation in the Latin Rite dioceses of the United States of America, in conformity with canon 1246, are as follows: January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter, the solemnity of the Ascension August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary November 1, the solemnity of All Saints December 8, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception December 25, the solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ Whenever January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, or August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, or November 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.
Thank you for asking. Deacon Mark Manko is now assigned as deacon of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Homosassa.
Hi Karen, yes, at this time all Catholics remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until further notice. You can read the full letter from Bishop Parkes here: https://www.dosp.org/joyfullypresent/. God bless!
Hello Emma, thank you for your interest in the ministry to bring holy communion to the sick. You must communicate your interest to your parish. Our divine worship office provides workshops each year in Spanish but you must first contact the person in charge of ministry in your parish. If you have more questions, please contact Carlos Flores at 727-311-1611 ext. 5472. Thank you!

The Venetian Event Center is a venue for community events in Tampa, Florida, located on the property of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Independent events hosted at The Venetian Center do not necessarily reflect the views, beliefs or values of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish or of the Diocese of St. Petersburg and neither the parish nor the Diocese promotes or endorses non-parish related events or their clients.

Hi Sora - we are not sure what parish you are talking about. If you are talking about the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle (5815 5th Ave North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710) their Ash Wednesday Masses are: 6:30 am, 8:15 a.m. (School Mass), 11:00 a.m., 7:00 pm. If you are looking for a different Catholic Church, you can find a listing of parishes in our diocese here: https://www.dosp.org/find-a-church/ and then you would need to reach out to the individual Church to find out Ash Wednesday Mass times. God bless!
Predators suffer from a severe psychosexual and developmental impairment. They display deviant sexual behavior and are considered mentally ill. This behavior is not and should never be considered “normal.” In an August 21, 2017 National Catholic Reporter article, Cardinal Sean O’Malley of Boston stated the following: "If a priest fathers a child, he has a moral obligation to step aside from ministry and provide for the care and needs of the mother and child. In such a moment, their welfare is the highest priority." While this does not answer the question, it clearly points to the Church’s expectation in those cases where a priest fails to lead a chaste life and subsequently fathers a child.
