Child Support in florida is terrible!! Inter-state is even worse! I have tried so many times to get a redetermination and get my arrears (back pay) from my daughters father and they are the worst to have to help you. It's basically get an Attorney and let them deal with them. But it is TERRIBLE that they can't do their jobs!

The State of Florida is completely inept when it comes to Child Support Enforcment and deadbeats from.other states know it. They flee to Florida to escape taking care of their children. Getting Florida to enforce a support order is like pulling teeth. They believe whatever the deadbeat says without backing up or even inquiring if it is true, do not pursue any kind of enforcement, and take forever to communicate with other states about enforcement giving the same generic response every time. No wonder Florida has the crime rate it does...all the kids of deadbeats have to find other ways to survive.

The very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and polite lady at window number 9 was great. The LeVar Burton looking gentleman at window number 8 was friendly and helpful too. Thank you very much, could not have asked for a more helpful interaction.

The ladies are nice but it seems like I talk to a new person every week and a half to 2 weeks. On top of that no one listens AND they require me to come in every 2 weeks for the same thing over and over and over or threaten to take my food stamps away witch is all I have for my daughter. My boss literally threatened to fire me because I have to miss days of work to come to the office for things I've already went there for. Seems kinda like a scam. They better hope they catch me not showing up to a meeting cause if I loose my job I'm letting the state know exactly why they now have to pay for everything!

apparently not!!
You just need to show up and take a number
Call child support first,, letting them know that you completed all payments plus rears. Then You have to contest the action by filing a petition in court, stating that you have competed all obligations.

it is always best to make the office visit to make sure they get it
No, but you can come to the 2nd floor of the building to discuss what options are available to you.
That would most likely come from your employer... Probably HR Dept.
Hire a lawyer and go to court. Make sure you make ur social media accounts private before hand. Don't contact the other party before court and hope they don't show. Make sure the motion you put in is a custody agreement for half custody. If they have good reason for with holding custody (drug addict, dangerous felon) make sure you file for SUPERVISED VISITATION before anything to prove you aren't a danger to your child. Good luck and make sure your ducks are in a row
