I stayed in this hotel twice in March we were in room 205 the only thing I could say was a negative was wear of the room ( which is to be expected)and water damage on all the walls bubbling the wallpaper ,a faint mold smell that after 2 nights did give me a migraine so my partner had to do all the driving our last day in MD cuz I couldn’t see right ( which at that point in time I didn’t attribute to the mold in the room)and the door to the room didn’t seal right so cold air gushed in all around the door so much the room heater couldn’t keep the room a reasonable temperature.but the room was very clean even though it was a smoking room and the free coffee and friendly people at the front desk made the experience wonderful so I looked forward to staying in may. I made reservations and pay on line for the room the day prior and when I arrive approximately 6:30 pm the next day may 7th I walk in to the front desk as a handsome young thin man with dreads in his hair is happily talking to an older couple. I wait til they are done talking and the couple heads to their room. He turns to me and immediately his mood is bitter! He asks my last name I say Baczek, he then says my first name Joan with a tone of disgust. Then tells me to swipe my card to pay i tell him “oh I hit the pay button on the choice hotel website and entered all my credit card info so I think I already paid. “He says no you didn’t now slide your card. I do what he said and it didn’t work so then I try inserting my card it didn’t work so after numerous attempts it finally reads my chip .( I still suspect he’s double charging me and I won’t know for sure until 2 weeks from now when I get a credit card statement) . I make a joke about how I always manage to mess up when trying to use card readers, he makes a joke about how machines just do what they want these days. I was relieved that the ice was breaking. He then exclaimed how bad the bridge is trying to get out of town to go to ocean city. I was so happy to have a common experience to speak of and knew exactly what he was referring to i excitedly said “ it was so bad traveling over that bridge to get here! And the opposite side was literally stopped the entire time all locked up “and I was actually glad I wasn’t going the opposite way on that bridge . He went suddenly cold and stern handed me a paper to sign he got annoyed when I questioned signing a part that said I will have to pay 250 if I smoke in a room, because I have a smoking room.exasperated he orders me to sign it and says “it’s a standard form” ( which is false cuz motel 8 doesn’t have that on the form when you rent a smoking room) so this guy is triggered by dark skin people who are not dark enough to be seen as black and not white enough to be white like the pale old couple previous to me, triggered by bridges even though he brought it up, triggered by anyone asking questions. He sternly hands me the key cards, I leave . We enter room 208 it smells bad even for a smoking room it’s above and beyond rank. We leave the door open hoping air will help we unload my truck. We then notice the dime and quarter size burns in the rug, that all the furniture had burn marks that all the walls were sprayed with splatter of what looks like coffee and has dried. Not only is the wallpaper bubbling it’s pealing off in sheets and the pungent fecal smell is actually long standing serious wood water damage and black mold ! With in an hour I had a raging migraine and the hand that touched the soggy pealing wallpaper was now tingling even though I washed my hands twice. ( no wonder cleaning staff could not stay in that room long enough to clean the coffee off the walls!)I call the front desk to atleast document the damage so I don’t get blamed for it, cuz if they charged the actual vandal then they would have had the money to fix the problem before renting it out again to me! They can’t charge for damage and not fix the damage they got money for!!! front desk answers the phone with a grumble. I hit word limit so if you want the rest of the story hit me on fb messenger

Worst motel I've ever been to. When I walked into the room I immediately saw a cockroach crawling around. There were spiders in the corners of the ceilings with other bugs in their webbing. It was disgusting! I went to the employee at the front to get a new room as it was late at night. The employee on duty acted like it was no big deal and said "sometimes the room keepers leave the doors open for bugs to get in while they clean." On top of all this there is no refrigerator, the pillows are smaller than throw pillows, and the TV picture is extremely pixilated. Again, this is worst motel I've ever been to. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

I know what you're thinking... How bad could it be? I had the privilege of sharing the room with the spider nest (see previous post). Upon confronting the front desk I was rewarded with a half hour wait to get an arachnid free room and bad attitude from the guy at the front desk. Benefits from the new room included springy mattresses, inconsistent water temperature, and, an overall feeling of discomfort, likely due to the spiders. Do yourself a favor and pony up for a nicer place if you can.

No frills budget hotel. No issues, room was average and everything was clean. Even closely inspected pillows inside and out and didn't see any usual stains. Man at front desk was very friendly.
